I was just wondering what you think... I had an interview on Wednesday for a job at the gym and he said he would be contacting people at the latest friday afternoon.. and I never heard from him. Well thursday I had written a letter of appreciation and time. I also called to ask him to see if he had gotten the email since he hadn't responded to my last one a couple of weeks ago. Well he did get it and said he hadn't made any decisions yet and friday I emailed him again to follow up but he never answered me and so I called the gym and one of the girls at the front desk answered and I asked her if she knew if he hired anyone and she said she hadn't heard anything. Well do you think he could be waiting until monday to call/hire even though he said friday he would make a decision most likely?? Can you please give me any advice?

I am an employer and sometimes we have to verify some things before making a critical decision. You could still be in the running for the job. If they call and you still want the job, stay positive and accept the job - no matter how long it takes them. The best thing to do is to keep looking, because you will find a job, as you appear to be very thorough and professional.

Answer is easy here. What choice do you have but to wait til Monday and see what happens. He may have gotten a larger resonse that they thought they would get and so its taking more time to fairly review all applicants. You are doing the right thing by following up with this but be careful not to be overbearing here as it can work against you as wellas helping you. just be patient and maybe tomorrow afternoon, just drop by to see. If they question your motives just tell him that you had another job offer but wanted to work at the gym first and foremost but you needed to know. Good luck

Well things happen and people get busy, so it's possible that he just didn't get it done and call on friday. I'd say wait until Monday afternoon, but don't call, I mean you've already expressed your desire for the job, let it alone now. If he doesn't call Monday, I'd say just move on to another job. Good luck.

When we are job searchers, the companies never move as quickly as we would like.
However, I would ALWAYS suggest calling, NOT emailing. It is much better to talk person to person about these things. If the job is at a gym, they are probably looking for outgoing people who have good people skills. Email will not show those people skills.

chill out and be patient, if your sucessfull he will contact you, he may not be sure about the decision on the successfull candidate so taking more time to think. Be carefull not to come accross as too pushy as this will not do you any favours, if he doesnt contact you (which a lot of employers dont) then it means you were not sucessful.
good luck with it and see if you hear anything next week

My advise is that you filled out an application at the gym and they will call if they decide to hire you. Stop harassing them and go fill out some more applications else where.

My advice is RELAX. You are overly anxious! No more emails or calls. The job is either yours or it's not. If it's yours then fine and if not, it's still fine. Then you can move on to your next assignment.
