Hollywood influences the culture in our country too much.
Men and women deserve dignity and respect.
There is no dignity when male prisoners must shower nude in front of a female guard. The reverse is also true.
In the Family Unit, research finds women are the born nurturers. Men forced into the role are put into undue stress, and the end result is:declining health.
Sexism is taught, drilled into us, via the clergy, parents, other relatives, teachers/professors.,friends, movies..........
The happiest people I've known; compromise, share responsibilities, and show respect toward each other.

After WWII men went to work in factories that were dirty and noisey and women could stay home rebuilding the population loss of the war. The roles were fairly well defined and they were different. It seemed we had a lot of good natured fun because of that difference.
The lines are now blurred as so called equality in the work place happens. To me a lot of that good natured fun will not occur anymore and any attempt at it will be interpreted as sexist and you better duck....LOL

Sometimes just a little bit, but not too much to the point of which men are trying to get in touch with their sensitive side and women are having contests for arm wrestling and burping. But both genders should be more conscious of the other gender.

No. I like my man just how he is.
And I enjoy being female.
American Heritage Dictionary
sex·ism
Discrimination based on gender, especially discrimination against women.
Attitudes, conditions, or behaviors that promote stereotyping of social roles based on gender.
Here is your problem in a nutshell. You promote discrimination and stereotyping.
No body likes that. We're all trying to work past it, and here you are just a thumping away at moving in a direction we consider to be backwards.
Like I said, if you want people to relate to the attitudes you espouse, you need to explain that you are not of Western culture.
Then it is easier to understand.
Everyone assumes you are American. Your ideals are typically Not American. So, clarify yourself and ask in the context in which it belongs:
"Ladies, do you believe that in Eastern Culture a husband should have the final decision?"
Then we understand what you are asking.

it's not that people want men to be more like women and women to be more like men, but they don't like that you women that well first of all, they're not strong enough to defend themselves, that they're inferior, and that they need permission for everything. now i'm not saying that men and women act the same or should act the same, but if someone said that people of your type shouldn't be allowed certain rights, that you were inferior, then how would you react?

I don't think anyone needs to act like the opposite sex, but I do think we all could learn something and emulate certain traits from the opposite. Men could do to learn how to be more sensitive and empathetic. Women could be more assertive.

What does that have to do with being like the opposite sex??? Just understand each other and don't judge people by one experience and you should be fine

...maybe just have the men be more sensitive to womens needs...be more loving....
....this is how bad some guys are...they think that they don't need to call or show they care...as if it counts just for them to think of us...well...that might work a little ....if women could read guys minds....
...better for guys to show they care more....and have the women ....be more like guys...and care less....not in a bad way...but be more into work and living than living for a guy...
