If there is yet another account on the laptop, you are able to log onto it and alter your password by person debts. If no longer, i think of all XP desktops have the account "Administrator" on them, yet i'm undecided no remember if that's presented outdoors of secure mode.

ok, waht you have to do is...
go to the login screen
press ctrl+alt+del
it will bring you to a screen where you can type a username and password
type in the username field: admin
(or administrator if admin doesnt work)
dont type anything in the password field
it will log you in with admin privelages
go to the start menu and click on run
it will bring up a box.. type cmd
press enter
then a black box will come up, in the black box type
net user
press enter
it will come up with a bunch of stuff, in it will be th user names
if the username you want to change is frogger, then what you do is type net user frogger *
press enter
(the star is made by pressing ahift and 8)
it will ask you for a password
as your typing, it wont show the letters,
press enter and it will ask you to verify the password.
once you're done verifying press enter. it will be changed, type exit and press enter.
now you can log into that user with the password that you typed
and then
§§VOILA!!§§

yes if you boot it up and keep pressing F8 till you get a menu come up. select safe mode. Go into administrator and leave the password blank. Then while in safe mode go into control panel and change accounts and then change the password in there. Reboot as normal. Hope this helps.
