The military and certain interstate issues. All other taxes (except social security) should be eliminated and those issues dealt with at the state level.

Personally, I'd prefer to limit govt funded programs to the following....
Defensive military (federal) and law enforcement
Criminal courts
Infrastructure (roads, bridges, dams, etc.)
Emergency services (fire department, disaster relief)
Primary school education (up through 8th grade).
Other than that, allow everyone who wants to participate in a program to contribute and get benefits, but don't make contribution or participation mandatory.
I'd also favor expulsion rather than prison -- if someone breaks the law and commits a violent crime, kick them out of the country until their sentence has been served.

Taxes should support those things described in the Preamble to the Constitution:
- form a more perfect union,
- establish justice,
- insure domestic tranquility,
- provide for the common defense,
- promote the general welfare,
- secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.
I often wonder how libs can complain about taxes on the middle class, when:
* The top 0.1% of taxpayers earn 9.1% of US income but pay 17.4% of all federal taxes.
* The top 1% earn 19 % of US income but pay 36.9% of all federal taxes.
* The top 5% earn 33.4% of US income but pay 57.1% of all federal taxes.
* The bottom 50% earn 13 % of US income, but pay 3.3% of all federal taxes.
I also wonder how libs can complain about government spending on programs they do not like, when over 50 percent of the federal budget is for handouts of money to people: Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, and Welfare.

Only those items SPECIFICALLY outlined in the Constitution. There was no Social Security, No WIC, no NEA, or any of this other poppycock trash that money gets spent on today. Why should the government "Subsidize" ANYONE???
They should not!!!

Wealthy Corporations
Defense contractors
Not necessarily in that order, but important things. Not "Pork Barrel Spending" on American infrastructure or the petty needs of American citizens

War, and tax breaks for oil companies. Also, we should continue to give tax incentives for US companies to move overseas. We should end Public Education all together and defund Medicare to allow our nations elderly to live on their own merit. This would be my utopia as a neo-con.

The military and the prison system. We fund the military to keep it strong, and fund the prison system so we have enough money to deport illegal immigrants who commit a crime.
