I'm buying a new laptop, but I want one that'll be best for what I do in my free time on it.

Well, I'm a student. So I need one with good writing programs, fast IE speed, etc.

And, I'm into graphic design. So, I'd like mine to come with pretty descent programs such as Adobe, Paint Shop Pro, etc.

And, I'm a SIMs gamer. So I'd like one that'll have alot of memory for my game.

At the lowest price I can get. (:

You must spend your money for the best brand.

As I know HP and Dell are the best in laptops for a long time and they are very reliable too. I trusted HP and I bought a HP laptop 2 years before, and still like the day I bought it. Didn't even have to service it at least once up to now.

I recommend you to buy a HP (with experience) or Dell laptop.

On www.hp.com you can even customize your laptop. And also you can check the price.

I highly recommend an IBM Think pad T series. You can get these on EBay at very low prices. Most of them come preinstalled with Windows XP Pro, also a wireless card for Internet access on the go. You can get an Office program that is similar to Microsoft office from openoffice.org for free. Think pads are very durable and well designed to fit any ones computing needs. Higher end graphic programs you can get on the Internet some for free, you just have to take the time and search. On EBay you can get a T series notebook for as low as $200. I would recommend at least a T40 or better to meet your needs to support graphics and comprehensive gaming. Find one with the minimum 60 gig hard drive 1 gig ram and Pentium 4 CPU. T4 series are sold on EBay for an average price of four hundred dollars give or take. Hope this helps!

I would get a Apple MacBook or MacBook Pro there a great choice and are really easy to use and sims is available for Mac's I know because I am also a Sim's Gamer. But if you've got the sims 2 and many EP's I would recommend the Macbook Pro for it's great graphics, and there are many photoshop like programs for them too.

Does it have to be a laptop?
Desktops are much cheaper.
Im a computer science student too!!!!!!!! (well close enough)

have you got the cases for your games, and software?
read the recommended system requirements on the back and buy a laptop with the specs of the most demanding spec and add a little more onto the spec for the future!

If you are serious about graphic design then an Apple is your only choice. PCs are total non starters. Adobe products are horrificly expensive unless you can get a good student deal or some such.

Definitely a PC (HP, Dell, Toshiba, etc)

If you want good graphics programs, buy them separately -- most schools can get you killer deals on Adobe products.
