Notre Dame vs Michigan the two schools and numbers 1 and 2 in both wins and wining percentage and both are schools that most highschool kids would dream of going to. Both schools have a rich football tradition. Also if its not one of the best rivalries than tell me how come it was one of the first rivalries ever and tell me why they are the only schools that have renewed the contract for their rivalry to continue until 2031 .... yeah thats right they now will play each other until 2031 anually. Also most of the people that posted before me have either in state rivalries which fight for just the people in those states or Rivalries of teams that are good NOW. Notre Dame and Michigan fight for respect around the US as well as the top recruits in the nation and about the top teams now.... well think of this Michigan and Notre Dame are 2 of the top teams ever and get recruits no matter what last years record was. These two schools have great tradition, and love to hate each other.

Screw the hype. The best rivalrys in college football hardly get any TV hype.
Lafayette College and Lehigh University:
142 games since 1884. The longest uninterrupted rivalry since 1897
Harvard and Yale:
They've been playing since 1875. With only a dozen of breaks since then.
Army and Navy:
I know their number is way up there.
South Carolina and Clemson
They have the third longest uninterrupted series in the nation. First game was 1896 and the games got so heated that in 1902 a full scale riot broke out after the game that caused a pause in the series. They didn't start playing again until 1908.

the most meaningful rivalry is the Michigan Ohio State. But it is only nasty when they are in Columbus. Michigan fans are truly some of the quietest people I have ever seen a game with. By the way, When did UK get a football team? lol

If you really look into the history i would say its these teams.

Army-Navy is the greatest rivalry
USC- Notre Dame has a lot of history lot of titles and hiesman winners between them
and then USC-UCLA for me personally but im sure there are some better then that one but my top two are the two best

Till Raterno screwed it up, Pitt vs Penn State was a very nasty rivalry.

Auburn - Alabama
Florida St - Florida
Pitt - West Virginia
Army - Navy
USC - UCLA

But, the best of all is Michigan vs Ohio State.

Go Blue!!!
