maybe under 600? I want to look at apple laptops because i hear they come with good musical recording software and upgrades.
Could some one steer me in the right direction?

the cheapest one that you could get is the macbook it starts around $999. if your looking for a cheaper one see the refurbished ones.

I recommend saving your money -- buy a cheap PC laptop (HP, Dell, Toshiba, etc.) and then invest some money in a program like Adobe Audition (www.adobe.com)
Better than Apple -- for less!

For that price you'd have to buy a used/refurbished model.
