Am I Too Up Tight About Family Guy?

Before you jump down my throat with cleats,read what I have to say.
Chris Rock said there are two types of black folks-Black people and ******.Black people can never have any fun when ****** is around.You watch a movie trying to enjoy it,****** is shooting at the screen,your trying to have a nice cookout,****** yelling and screaming.You graduate-they don't care,they just want to know if you can beat THEIR ***.He is right.

Carlos Mencia says when white people have know electricity or water,its called camping.With blacks-its called the ghetto.
When whites have oversized clothes,their homeless,with blacks-their rappers.

Now I can go on but let me get to the point.If your black,any other race that know blacks to the bone or just know this much-
Why on Family they have Aunt Jemima just pop up in the window with a plate of pancakes saying,"Yall want some pancakes?".

So I guess all blacks just love pancakes?We have to have fried chicken?Over weight women can sing?Please reason with me.

Yes, you are being to uptight. Go watch a few more episodes. They make fun of every race. It doesn't matter. As I've said before people are far to sensitive and Family Guy is trying to show us this. I don't get made at Carlos M. for making fun of whites. Why? Because he does the same to Latinos, Blacks and Asians. Why does he do this? Because it is insane for people in this day and age to have prejudices and racist attitudes. I will admit that there are people out there that probably laugh a little to hard when FG makes a racial joke and they take it seriously. But anyone with common sense and a little bit of an education can see what they are attempting to prove.

I can keep going on. Each of these shows and comedians have attempted to push us to think outside of our normal stereo typing ways. I encourage you to sit and watch some episodes while removing yourself form your own self induces racial stereo types. Or sit down and watch a couple of episodes of Boondocks while imagining that you are a white guy. I love Boondocks, but it stereo types whites and blacks in a negative light for comedic purposes. I don't get offended because I understand this and I look at the overall message of teh show. That message is that racism and stereo typing is stupid and often self imposed.

Are you offended by Boondocks?

Besides all that everyone should like pancakes. They are delicious

Wow aunt Jemima has absolutely nothing to do black people liking pancakes. If anything she is a cultural icon, like Mrs. Butterworths, does that mean because she is white all white people love syrup? No. The reason Aunt Jemima is black is because back in the day live in servants, not slaves mind you, were black. I do think you are putting too much emphasis on it, Family Guy has made fun of white people 100 times for each time they fun of another race. Don't sweat it, it is only meant to entertain and make you laugh nothing more.

You are right about the aunt Jemima stereotype. However, the stereotype does not say that black people like pancakes. Aunt Jemima was a cultural and commercial icon back in the 40s? She was an example of the "mamey" stereotype and was used (quite successfully) to market pancake mix. She was popular in an age where white performers in blackface exagerrated African-American stereotypical behavior.

Btw, in my opinion, family guy displays racial stereotypes to poke fun at them.

I had a sex dream with aunt Jemima once, there was pancakes and syrup everywhere. But I hate fried chicken, too much fat.

Family is like that but dont worry alot of shows do styff like that and with other races.Like South park sayn that mexicans get any jobs tey can find outiside home depot and they can berly talk english. Its just to make the show funnier but i dont think they rally mean it to say that blacks have that couse it mean this or that mexcansdo this and means that. Alot of shows make do that kind of stuff but not of just black people.Ive seen south park, family guy, American dad, and other shows make fun of chinese, black , mexican, arabians, and even whites. So dont worry and I dont think your Up tight.

thats kinda what family guy does. random stuff. i dont think it was meant to be taken seriously and they were just using Aunt Jemima to press some buttons on some people. Over all, its a funny, albeit stupid, show. dont be offended by a cartoon, dude.
