They failed us. As a country, we made a strong statement when we gave Senate majority to the Democrats.
I won't forget it come next election.

The Dem's are girlie men. They let W bully them into giving ours rights away because they put their party and their reelection above the Constitution. The same way they were bully into this war of choice by W.. The Dem's have no sense of standing on principal, as a former Dem I am ashamed of them once again. They should have stayed in DC called W bluff, and dared W to give up his vacation. Now the Iraqi parliament, congress and W are off on vacation for the whole month of August, what a bunch of self serving lazy bums

Actually I think it was made legal back in WW1 or 2 that it is constitutional in war time. And yes, they do value the day off more than the constitution, the country, the good of the people and so on. They've been on vacation since they've been in!

Does not surprise me, since Bill signed that wiretapping bill while in office, and Hillary listened in on other staff members conversations, while they were in the white house. She had to keep up with all the women,in Bill's life, so she could help launch their attack on the women. I am for tracking terrorist conversations and people they are associated with. Who knows, in 09, it could come back to some top dogs in the white house. What do you mean , before they went on vacation, Congress has been on one since Jan. 1.

If the calls are to US phones it is violating the Constitution's rule of illegal search and siezure. However the bill is for calls going through but not terminating in the US and therefore do not apply to the Constitution and may be monitored.

I'm not happy about the Dems action on this.
Here's a question for you, though - is this an indication that citizens need to be more vocal about this? Or do you take this as vindication for violation of the 4th Amendment?
