I'm going clubbing downtown (for a friend's birthday party). This is my first time to an actual club. I'm 19 by the way and it's legal where I'm from once you turn 19.
I have been to a restaurant-bar or lounge before but haven't stayed there for more than 10 minutes, after hours.
My parents disapprove with severity; they claim that drive by shootings happen and things get out of hand all the time in these kinds of places, and it's definitely no place for someone as young and inexperienced as me.
In the end; however, it is my decision. By the way, I do look very young; I got IDed multiple times at the lounge, and I wasn't even there for that long, but my friends didn't b/c I look young. Do you think this would make me vulnerable or an easy target for the wrong type of people?
Do you think it would be a bad idea to stay out late once and just have fun clubbing with my friends? I was planning on wearing a sexy dress but now I'm unsure. Should I? I won't drink. Thanks for your help

If you go with, and stay with your friends, do not dress too seductive, and act properly.. you will be fine....You can dance and sing, but, do stay with your friends, never leave your drink unattended, even if you have to take it to the bathroom with you, and even go to the washroom with a friend.
Don't give out your personal information, phone number. etc.
Unless you meet someone that you really feel comfortable with, and even then make sure someone you know, can at least vouch for him....Too much craziness going on out there these days, but you cannot live in a cage either, just be careful, and trust your gut instincts, and friends that have proved themselves....I swear by the buddy system.....thank you

If you are not gonna drink you will probably be o.k. Just keep a clear head and do not believe anything anybody tells you especially a man. Don't go outside without a friend or two. And go to nice places. Stay away from the dives. The most important thing to remember is..There is safety in numbers..That means don't go to the bathroom by yourself,outside, go with friends everywhere you go.Don't go anywhere alone.bathroom included.And if a fight starts get outta the way or outta the bar. Have a good time and stay aware of whats going on around you. and never,never leave your drink unattended.

You should be just fine, you just need to be aware of who is around you and what is going on. Also make sure the place you are going is a decent place and not on the bad side of town. I think they location of the place and the people that go there and the biggest worrie. If you hang aroung normal civilized people then you should not have a problem.

Honestly, I know you don't want to hear this, but yes, clubbing IS dangerous....There are people that go to clubs just to pick up non-suspecting young girls like yourself. This is where date rape happens...This is where someone can slip something into your drink and you can be knocked unconscious...I look young as well, and because of that, people tend to take advantage of me, even in something as small as the line at Wal-Mart...or whatever..It's just a fact that people go to clubs to pick women up...especially those who look innocent. I really do think it is a bad idea to go out...I know that you sound like a really cautious girl, but sometimes situations are out of your control whether you are cautious or not...Trust me...

Providing you don't do stupid things, going clubbing isn't more dangerous than driving a car.
Just don't do drugs. And don't drink anything, including non-alcoholic beverages. Or, rather, don't drink anything that doesn't have a sealed cap on it or that you've let out of your sight. Nobody's going to snatch you and carry you away, but date-rape and drugging isn't unheard of.

Clubbing can be really fun! As long as you stick by your friends, don't drink too much, never leave your drink out of your sight and trust your instincts, you should be fine.

clubs aren't dangerous. and if guys go up to u and start trying to talk to u or what ever just say your not interested if u don't like them. but u will be fine if your with all your friends
