I agree with that. Nobody today stands out. Everyone of them look and sound the same. Nobody is unique. They are like cookie cutter bands.
Now music from the 60s, 70s and 80s was great!! It's all I listen to. I dont even turn on the radio unless it's a classic rock channel

i couldn't agree more. Most of the bands playing on MTV and the radio all sound the same. I myself miss the late 80's early 90's. Pixies, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, GNR and STP. Those were good bands. I mean seriously, does anyone think that Fall Out Boy will be listened to in 30 years like Pink Floyd?
That being said there are some original bands out there currently. I worked in a little (stoner) rock club/bar for awhile. If you look for bands that are experimenting with new stuff and not doing the cookie cutter crap... You will be surprised.
Check out The Voodoo Organist. He isn't for everyone but I love his exotic demonic blues. Uncle Scratches Gospel Revival is also a great one. ATP or Alabama Thunder P*ssy if you like heavy rock. And let us not forget Clutch is still going strong.

I was born in 1982, and most of the music in my collection is from the 60's - 70's - the songs I grew-up on.
Though it does also include some 50's, 80's, 90's, and a few songs from the last 7 years.

i am not a product of the 60s and 70s, i am unfortunately a product of the 90s, but i very much prefer the music from the 60s, 70s and early 80s
todays music (although there are a few exceptions) just pales in comparison.

My favorite music comes from the late 60's and goes into the early 90's.There is still a lot of good music today but not as inspiring.

I just posted a question about this myself the other day actually, I agree 100%. I don't know whether or not to keep my hopes up that something good will come out or to just go ahead & start mourning the death of actual music.

Today's music is the music of my generation. You're right...a lot (well, most) of it is generic. I'm like you...most of my music comes from pre-90s bands and artists. However, there are a few hidden gems out there...you just have to search for them.

Definately. Today's music is lame. Bands like Guns 'n' Roses and AC/DC are millions of times better than crap like Fall Out Boy and Panic! at the Disco.

Also agree with you.
One listen to today's garbage music makes me sick. Unfortunately, I see no end in sight of it.
I think I'll dust off some Zeppelin.
