Because society tends to idolize the alpha male persona. Men are seen as having to be macho and supposed to be with women and anything that contradicts this is seen as threatening to many people. I believe we are making good progress in throwing off traditional gender roles but have much work still to do.

No, it's not considered ok for women to be lesbian. Yes, this straight male patriarchy deems it ok for women to make out with other women. The thing is women are expected to only do it for a man's enjoyment and must go back to sleeping with men after having her fun. It goes right along with that notion that there's no such thing as a gay woman besides some of us real butch ones. The rest are supposed to be bi or straight or are at least just one good **** away from going straight. That doesn't really sound like acceptance to me.

:( Poor baby. What did she do to you? Want me to kick her butt for you? Its funny though, because I said the same exact thing the other day about me turning intoa lesbian because all guys are insencitive selfish jerks that only care about themselves. Its so sad. Most women are just annoying. They are clingy when they aren't wanted. And when they are wanted, they are too busy for their guy. Guys are jerks too though. When I try tobe nice and loving and caring and sexual with my husband, he ignores me or says he doesn't feel like it or he isn't in the mood, but if I leave him alone because he wants space, then he accuses me of not loving him. I don't know though. I've always been kinda boyish. I have only had one girl friend in my whole life. That was when I was in 1st grade. I'm 22 now. I only have guy friends because they are easier to get along with and a lot more interesting. I never really got turned on by girls though, so its kinda hard for me to be a lesbian. If you aren't attracted to guys, then you aren't gay, and you can't force yourself to be. Just like a gay guy can't force himself to be straight. But you can take a break from women for a while by telling them you're gay.

Because some girls and guys like to see two (or more) girls going at it, yet the same girls and guys get grossed out by two (or more) guys going at it (I asked around school and a vast majority of girls didn't like gay porn, but liked lesbian porn, while a majority of guys liked lesbo porn) Interesting, huh? And it's because the guys who run the religions (and government) are mostly straight guys, and most straight guys like to see two girls kissing and doing stuff, so they say that's OK but not two guys doing it...it all has to do with pleasing the public. On either front, religion and politics.

When 2 women are together, it's considered soft, delicate, and beautiful. When 2 men are together they (str8s) always imagine it being rough, and one guy's going to be "de-masculanized" because he's going to "be the girl" It's a joke, but they're str8 people, what more could you expect.
