I think any one who associates with Chavez, should have to live there with him, and never be allowed back in America. Strange , how all the commie celebrities are showing their true colors. Never was a Glover or Penn fan to start with, so sure, I will boycott their movies for the fact that they associate with Chavez.

I don't pay much attention to Hollywood hoopla.
It's all about being rich and getting publicity.

As far as Sean Penn's (and Danny GLover's) movies go... is he (or are they-) acting in any movies right now? The only movie I ever really liked Penn in was "I Am Sam."

Boycott. Hmm. No. Thing is, I wouldn't have known about the Chavez visit, except that you brought it up. I probably won't pay any more attention to Hollywood antics after this answer.

Hollywood folks are a world unto themselves. Anyone who takes them seriously is a Bozo. In Chavez's case... well, he's just a double Bozo.

I agree with Coragryph. Firstly, Hugo Chavez runs his own country. I don't agree with his foreign policy, especially in the open support of any terrorist group willing to hurt the US. In protest, I don't buy Venezuelan gas through Citgo. Second, these people have a right to do and say whatever they want. They're Americans after all. Boycotting their movies won't really make an impact. To be honest, what was the last thing either of them was in that made any money? I saw Glover in Shooter and was so annoyed with his performance that I was depressed to see how far a good actor can fall. If they want to run around using their fame to push their agendas, that's fine. They are using their faces to bring an issue of importance to the forefront. I'm not one of those that watches Access Hollywood or Extra or ET. I could care less what famous people wear, do, or campaign for. I make up my own mind. I wish more of us did so.

And as for Bush visiting with Chavez...... Chavez stood on our soil and called Bush names. Bush didn't retaliate. Chavez broadcasts from his own country on his own stations that America's demise will be Venezuela's gain. Bush doesn't respond in kind. Chavez says he will meet with Bush........ on his own terms for his own agenda. What does Bush have to gain there? I know if it was me that I would just run towards the chance to be yelled at for two hours and photographed with a man that hates me just so I look friendly to the rest of the world. (sarcasm) Even the Presidential Hopefuls are saying that they won't meet with Chavez until they know that there is progress to be made. And right now Chavez doesn't want progress. He wants to prove he's a bigger better leader of a better country. It's highschool jockism.

I am personally OK with Sean Penn's visit to Portugal with Hugo Chavez. You see, I am not on big oil's side, I am on the peoples side. Americans should be grateful to Sean Penn..
If Hugo Chavez knew and saw to it that, at least. Half of the profits to asst the poor people of his Country it is a good thing!
Redistribution of wealth in a reasonable fashion should be part of the solution for every part of the globe and every State, but it is mostly needed in the Richer Countries to show the way for the sake of the poorer Countries in the World.
Of all the President's aware of the needs among their people, and it should be the President of the United States, But no, we get Brownie and Bush doing a speak-fast about all the good and right things that are going to be done in
Louisiana after the debilitating hurricane.
The the curse of being a cheap and sick Nation in the World today is sending one American diplomate to every cellebration of good Government is a good idea and should be made the law of the land.

Both Penn and Glover are Boycotted on this end.

Hugo is to finance a Glover movie. Imagine what that will be like. 2-bit actors as far as I'm concerned.

Hugo Chavez is the leader of Venezuela. I don't watch Sean Penn's movies, but not because of his politics. I think Bush could learn a little from listening to Chavez. At least Hugo Chavez seems to care about his people, while Bush is only interested in profits for the rich.

I think he is an idiot and Chavez another to even want him. I think a lot more of the Prime Minister of Canada (I think it was) who declined Bono's offer to meet saying he had no particular interest in meeting with Bono.

That whole 'look at me!' thing...

It's amazing that Mel Gibson is lynched by Hwood, and Penn and Glover are praised. I haven't seen a Sean Penn movie since "Dead Men Walking", and I was forced to watch that liberal propaganda by a professor.
