Jack needs to get all his facts straight. Only a very few of the top university and conservatory acting programs are worth while, the most of them are part of a great swindle that is ruining the acting profession. Go to my profile and write to me at the email address given there. I wil help you.

That is just not true. To be an actor, you need all the instruction, practice and experience you can get. A college or university can be a good place to get that. You also need exposure. Audition for all the shows you can in college and in community theatre. If you live near a big city such as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago or San Francisco, audition all over the place. A credit in San Francisco for instance is worth a million in Des Moines. That's not a slam on Des Moines, but facts are facts. If you get jobs and a career without a degree, good for you. It happens, but not to very many.

It is very true..there is plenty of places where you can get training outside of school. universities are into teaching a lot of pointless crap...I was a theater major for three years and it was a huge waste of time. They kept doing stupid plays and some were so bad I dropped out of the play....Believe me it's not necessary ..find training elsewhere!
