Every baby is different but runny is normal. Has it changed recently? Have you changed from breastmilk to formula or changed to a different formula? All this can affect it. Remember your little one is getting (or shouldn't be getting) anything solid to eat so it's gonna be runny.

Here's what my pediatrician told me...
Color: The baby's poop can be anything from mustard yellow to brown to green. Worry if it is yellow or has blood in it.
Consistency: Runny is ok, diarrhea is not. Diarrhea is when all contents of the poop are able to soak into the diaper. If there is matter to the poop that does not soak in, it's not diarrhea.
If your little one's poop has changed, consider what else may have changed. Did you change formula recently? Is it hotter/colder outside?
Give your pediatrician a call to run it by them for peace of mind.

Hi, If the baby poop has been runny for more then a day I would get it checked out. The baby could be allergic to the formula or lactose intolerant like my daughter was. Good luck!

Depends. If baby is still on breast milk, poop will smell less and have a more liquified consitency. If on formula, should start smelling more and get thicker. As he/she gets older you can even add powdered infant cereal to the formula for more consistent BM. As long as things are moving through and baby is still gaining weight, not a big deal. I he/she seems to be going to frequently, and is not getting heavier, it might be a digestive problem... tell pediatrician at next visit.

Breastfed babies usually have very runny yellow poop. Formula fed babies tend to have darker, firmer poop. If your baby's poop is suddenly runny after being firm regularly, it could be diarrhea.

that would depend on if you are breast-feeding or using formula. If you are nursing, then something you ate could affect the stools and if you are using formula, it could be the kind of formula. is the runny stools a change from what they usually are? if so then you might want to go see the doctor.

Totally normal. My 7 month old just had her first "solid" poo, before that it was always just super runny. I'm breatfeeding and I think that makes a difference. Good luck
