There are a couple of products currently available at most hardware/garden shops sold under the name of "Bayer's Brush Killer" & "Ortho Brush-B-Gone"...both contain the active ingredient called; "TRICLOPYR".
Triclopyr does an excellent job on hard-to-kill brush and vine species (including poison oak, poison ivy, unwanted trees). It can also be applied to lawns to control broad-leaved weeds without damaging the grass.
Hope this answers your question. GOOD LUCK!

Frank,
Sorry to give you the bad news but it does not now nor probably ever exist. Vegetation killers are strong in oil or petroleum products which simply devestate turfgrasss.
If the "woody brush" is minimal and small try using a hand held type of agent. Wear boots into the area and remove them on leaving the area. This will prevent you spreading the chemical to the turf. It may take two or three tries to rid yourself of the pest.
If you want to put down a general spray be advised it will still take two or three attempts as pest are by definintion pests! As a precaution you can put down a layer of Granular Gypsum at 2/lbs per 1,000 foot from the base of the spray, along with granular Charcol at 1/lb per 1,000 ft. Cover the area from where you plan to spray to six foot behind you.
Cover the plants and turf you wish to save with a six foot covering of either tarp or plastic. Again wear boots and coverings you can remove at the edge of your border so as not to spread the chemicals.
This is a dangerous mission. Make sure you have the boots, gloves, a respirator, and raincoat (disposable) and the monies to leave them all behind. Should you choose not to use the tarps, etc., have a 5mil plastic bag at the border so you can dispose of the boots, gloves, raincoat, sprayer, etc. Good Luck. Go with elimination by Aeresol and do it one by one!

most herbicides will also kill the grass, look at your hardware or farm store read the labels carefully before use. Try MSMA it kills most broad leaf plants but dose not kill grass.
good luck
