Is there a way to locate a particular dog?
Recently, I decided to find a better home for my dog because I am not home enough to give him the care he deserves. The family I gave him to told me they would take good care of him and I could visit whenever I wanted. After having him for two days, the family decided to give him up. They say he was given to a good home but I have no way of knowing this because they will not give me any information about his whereabouts. I only want to ensure the dog's safety. I need to make sure they did not abandon him or worse. I did not have the family sign a contract. Do I have any recourse to ensure this dog's safety?
Thanks is advance.

You can attempt to sue them for breach of the contract, by showing that their promise to let you visit him was a material condition and they breached that condition.

That's legalese for saying that you only gave the dog based on that promise to let you visit, and they didn't do it.

At best, that will cause them to give you information about where the dog is now..... but other than that, there's not much you can do.

In most courts of law, verbal agreements are just as binding as written contracts. Contact an attorney to see what your chances in court are.

A verbal contract isn't worth the paper it's written on.
