i have a zyxel x-550 wireless router firmware is 1.6...just recently my speed has been slower,and the main problem is 2 of my computers get kicked offline frequently and shortly after this happens the modem resets..we just replaced the modem since cable thought it was the modem they dont see any other problem can my router actually cause the modem to reset?

I have never heard of this being caused by the router.
You may wish to check the router maker's web site to see if they are seeing this but I doubt they are. I would update to the latest firmware for the router as well.

It is unlikely. before you go any further, check that any telephone sockets with equipment attached hav filters fitted, nothing else can connect direct to the sockets. If so, try removing one filter at a time to see if it is a faulty filter. Also after this change one filter for the one on the modem, in case it is faulty.

it maybe a signal problem with the router or it may just be the Cable Company it self
