Understanding is the convergence of the minds of both the sender and recipient of information. Convergence of the minds happen when both the sender and recipient end in the same world of acceptance, that is, both agents arrive at a conclusion of open acceptance of the other’s viewpoint. This means that there could be understanding despite divergence between the protagonists. Further, arriving in the same world of acceptance requires that participants perform their purpose in accordance with one’s role. If one is a sender then one must communicate the information clearly. On the other hand, the recipient must provide an avenue for the influx of the information no matter how divergent it may be.

What do I really mean? To be understood, specifically pertaining to your issue, requires not only an act on your part but also an act from your recipient. Therefore, one can only do so much to be understood. One can only go as far as one’s limitations in the “game of understanding”. If one is a good communicator yet has an ineffective listener OR if one is a poor communicator despite having blessed listener, information will not be properly and efficiently processed. Hence, no full understanding will be achieved.

Not being understood does not always points to you as the culprit. It always “takes two to tango” and in the realm of understanding, the rule is the same. Focus on your role and do it well, because in the end, if others still did not understand you, you may be talking to the wrong audience. The problem is not with you anymore.

God bless you!

Life's a "B" right?

Here in this forum you have to be more specific, misunderstandings cover a broad territory and its hard to help you not understanding what you were misunderstood about.

Maybe its your communication, do you look people in the eye when you speak to them?

If you are nervous about what you are to say or report write it down and it will come easier to you when you are saying it. Try it.

Its awful to be misunderstood all the time, did you ever think that body language also plays a factor with a person's statements. Look at the reaction of the people you are talking to you should know immediatly if they misunderstood you and you can then correct it. This is why eye communication is important, if you are just joking they should see it in your eyes. Good luck honey

If you have had injustices done to you then you have to get through them and hopefully pick up the pieces.
And work through any current and continuous misunderstandings to make them better.

And the details button is to the right on the little toolbar, left click on the mouse and you'll be able to add them if you wish.

A person who is always misunderstood is not doing a good job of communicating. learn the language used by those who are understood and use it yourself.
