There are alot of different choices within the AFC as any of the 6 seeds could pull it off. Just remember the Steelers team a couple of years ago. This is because the AFC is the far superior conference this decade. I can see the AFC Seeds looking like this:

1. Baltimore Ravens (14-2)
2. New York Jets (12-4)
3. San Diego Chargers (11-5)
4. Tennessee Titans (11-5)
5. New England Patriots (11-5)
6. Denver Broncos (9-7)

The Ravens will maintain their dominant defense, but will be even better than last year with a veteran QB and a great running game. The New York Jets, assuming Chad Pennington stays healthy, will improve from last year as Pennington is now familiar with the offense and they have the piece they were missing in a reliable runningback in Thomas Jones. I see them taking the AFC East this year. The Chargers will be great again, but will take a slight step backwards due to switching coaches. The Colts will miss the playoffs altogether as now that Manning has his ring, he's gonna suck the rest of his carreer and be living on borrowed time. Instead, the Titans, with a more experienced Vince Young (which scares me to death), will take the South. The Patriots will be in the playoffs again, however, since the Jets took the division, they will get the first wild card spot. The second wild card spot will be a toss up between the Chiefs and Broncos, but due to the Chiefs QB concerns, I'd give the edge to the Broncos.
As far as the Superbowl winner goes, you're looking at one of these six teams doing it. The AFC Championship game will be the real Superbowl, and you can forget the NFC. The Bears won't be any good, Rex Grossman will be having a Superbowl hangover. The Saints might be the only decent team out of the NFC. I'd take the Ravens, under an experienced and determined veteran QB and a dominating defense, to take the Superbowl this year.
On a final note, these are only guesses. No one can forsee who is going to get injured, underachieve, overachieve, etc. I know alot of people won't take my guess of the Colts, Bears, and Patriots slipping seriously, but just remember, this is a whole new season and everyone starts at 0-0. Whatever happened last year dosen't matter, and suprises happen every year.

Most simple minded football fans will base this answer off of last seasons top teams. The NFL is known for Championship teams folding the next season, alot to due with the salary cap. This is why football is the greatest game because there is no predicted team. Every team has a shot in preseason. Alot of factors affect the games outcome now not just the coaching and players. You just never know in this game. Pittsburgh would have never been Champs if Carson Palmer didnt shatter his knee. Testeverde was a yard short of the so called TD. I just hope the best team gets a shot, but we all know and love the Any Given Sunday! Raiders all the way!!!

Colts will repeat

Colts bid to super bowl last year not a fluke they have a better defense now. All they need is for someone to catch Peyton's passes and they are in. Is Peyton the only QB allowed in NFL to call his own plays? Thats what I call trusting your QB and if you got that kind of trust then they can do nothing but WIN!

The playoff team that doesn't lose any games in the playoffs is my pick to be Superbowl champs. Probably someone like the Oakland Raiders.
