A new al-Qaida video threatens embassies with deliberate attack.

It is a fundamental rule of civilized people that has existed for centuries that embassies are sacrosanct and cannot be deliberately attacked. (Please note the key word here is "deliberately")

The Prophet Muhammed, blessings and peace be upon him, himself sent and received ambassadors, both protecting those he received and expecting that those he sent would be respected. Muslim rulers throughout history have sent and received ambassadors and observed the rules of diplomacy.

al-Qaida's threat therefore proves that they are neither civilized nor true Muslims i.e. they are barbarians and apostates.

What is the cause of this and what should the world's reaction be?

The al-Quaida is a religious cult of Muslim fanatics, who believe everything that their leader tells them. They believe that if they strap a bomb to themselves and blow up several innocent people that they will go to heaven and that they will be given a bounty of beautiful virgins. They have a hatred for anyone that does not have their same beliefs. You cannot deal with this type of individual or group. This group only understands violence. The world should realize that terrorism is going to be here until this cult is taken care of. The world needs to realize that sometimes fanatics do not deserve any human rights.

simple, first of all they just call of themselves muslims though they're not even close it, you see they're just misguided fools that use Islam as to disguise themselves, they're trying to show that they're trying to accomplish something as muslims when they're really just bunch of cold hearted animals who are using Islam as an excuse to hurt people, basically sin. Now how should people react to this and what is the cause of this. Ha tht makes me laugh, well this world is a test from God, our mission is to pray to him and follow the rules that he made in his book, his book is like a guide. What has happened has happened, what will happen will happen theres nothing we can do to change that unless God has decided that. So what am I trying to say? Everything has already been decided, do what you have been made to do, don't worry about the foolish things that are happening in the world for we can't do nothing about it, Everyone in this world will die sooner or later, so just focus on you're objective and don't worry about all this crap because i assure you that the world will come to an end, and the time for it is getting closer and closer, you can tell you're self whatever you want but at the end you will see. To put this all in a short answer, Al-Qaeda = fools giving in to evil world's reaction = pity them ;) or not lol

It's the afterlife that counts seeing how this is just a temporary life, we live 70 yrs avg, nothing compared enternal life, you may live this enternal life burning in fire or enjoy in heaven YOU CHOOSE , i know what Al-Qaeda chose LOL

I think that the issue is extremism. When I look at any religion, there always a spectrum of different believers.

I've not found any major religion that doesn't have trouble, caused by the extreme faction of the religion's believers.

I'm a Buddhist & I was absolutely STUNNED to find Buddhists straying away from a position of peace http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m2065/is_2_55/ai_106560164

The only response I can give, is to restate MY position - I WILL NOT KILL ANY LIVING THING. If drafted, I would go to jail, instead of serving. The rest of you have to make your own decisions.

No-one should judge a religion by it's extremists. But people almost always do. Persevere with an indivdual faith that supports & embraces peace, regardless of what others of your general religion believe.

P.S. The Buddhist precept says "One must not deliberately kill any living creatures, either by committing the act oneself, instructing others to kill, or approving of or participating in act of killing. It is a respect to others' lives.

One should not deprive others (animals not excluded) of the right to live. If one is hurt or killed, one's family, relatives, friends will suffer. It is the cause of rebirth in Three Evil Paths. The effect of killing to the performer are brevity of life, ill health, handicapped and fear.

In observing the first precept, one tries to protect life whenever possible. Furthermore, one cultivates the attitude of loving kindness to all beings by wishing that they may be happy and free from harm. ".

It is my understanding that al-Qaida receives its support from many who are illiterate. lack of education keeps people down - this is a tool of oppressors. Instead of the herald tribune or the library, or a traditional education - they must rely on photos and oral tradition for information. For those who can read and write, I believe their parents, teachers, and/or guardians have raise them in a state of frenzied fear. What should the world do? Offer an impartial education to the masses. Let them choose their values with as much independence as those who are literate. Give them a chance.

Why doesn't the United States?

Why shouldn't they? The worrld stands by while the muslim radical world propogandizes lies- like zionism is racism, its wonderful to kill innocent wommen & children, if they are Jewish, anyone who converts from Islam merits death, Israel is an oppressor in Judea & Samaria. Its okay to destroy holy things of other religions- Joseph's Tomb, Hindu Temples & respect for humanity are of no account. The USA's allie Saudi Arabia spends millions promoting hatred & violence but not a pittance relieving the plight of arabs in Gaza & Samaria. If we in this country are not people of ethical conduct & morality & we do not strive for truth & justice, why should Al- Quaida have respect for anyone, even innocent children!

They live in caves, do you think they would be civilized? They attack their own kind i.e Muslims. They seem to have been brainwashed by their teachers just like the people in the Pakistani Lal Masjid (The Red Mosque) were. They just do what they're told and put it all in the name of Islam, which is a peaceful religion. This would of course anger the world, as if the world isn't dangerous enough already.

I do not agree with you, if they are not civilized people, they would had killed all the Korean Hostages, the French revolution in the seventeenth century killed most of the key people at that time in France and then in Europe, because sometime when you want to renew a home, you need to demolish it.. When you feel it is not worthy to renew, and its basis do to support the new renovations. ...and so on.. if not.. do you feel killing every body in the street is civilized action…this is what is done by US forces, Israeli Army and their allied…? Alqaeda is of little threat than US Army, and the Zionism. do you feel repelling Palestinian people out of their homes and land..and importing ..people from Russia and India and Ethiopia to replace them is a civilized action...?

To them, they are civilized and we're not. Any religion in the world haven't and wouldn't force it's faith upon anyone. This kind of extremissm misused the true meaning of the religion to gain something for themselves..thus leading them to create their own 'rules and regulations'. I pity the ones who has been brainwashed because they lost faith in the true meaning of the religion and believe blindly that whatever they r doing now will bring them closer to Allah and hope to be forgiven. Nothing can be done to the brainwashed but we can still guide the ones who are prone to be mislead...starting from home..from parents..

They are not civilized. They do their dirty work in the name of religion...when in fact it's in the name of an "al-Qaida ruled" world....we have to stop them and the Taliban. I just find it difficult to understand, how highly educated human beings can fall for this type of terrorism and follow their lead.
