Okay . Here it goes. I have nine red beautiful cabbages growing in my veggie bed. My question to you is following. When is the right time to harvest them?

Hint: They leaves are still wide open, and the color of the cabbage is a light red.

Thanks for your help!

Cabbage can be harvested anytime after the heads form. cut the cabbage heads when they are solid (firm to hand pressure) but before they crack or split. Harvest and salvage split heads as soon as possible after they are discovered. depending on what kind of soil you've been using and if you've been feeding it any extras, your red cabbage should come out a dark purple for acidic soil and dark blue for alkaline soil. it takes about 70-75 days for a red cabbage to be fully grown (this is dependant on the type-if you're growing a red meteor-75 or a ruby ball-71)
