let your body take it's coarse... there are all sorts of hormones that need to be produced in order for you to have a smooth delivery, and when it's ready, your body will start the process.
I have heard that walking helps....also I have heard that semen from sex starts your body producing the hormones that start labor.

Gosh, wish I could help! I am in the same boat. I hit 40 weeks this Tuesday. My two sons were here at 37 weeks so this is quite a surprise. After everything I've tried, I've learned that they are going to come when they want to! Just know that there is a reason for them to stay in for as long as they need to and that nothing that you do will help it along until it's really time. Good luck!

i tried everything and my baby was born at 41 weeks because nothing works the baby will come when it is ready and the longer that baby is in the better because now you are just waiting for the rest of the baby to mature and this is when the lungs mature the most trust me it is better this way
but having a lot of sex with my husband made me go into labor with my first son and i was a week early with him
everyone i know that drank Castro oil and stuff just ended up with a bad case of diarrhea and no baby and i tried herbal stuff when i was over due with my second son but nothing worked!

There are a few things you can try. Nipple stimulation — either manually or with a breast pump — may release the hormone oxytocin, which can lead to contractions. But exercise caution. Sometimes nipple stimulation can lead to excessive, potentially dangerous contractions. You can also do some light exercise such as squats, walking, and swimming.

Other techniques — such as having sex or eating pineapple or spicy food — aren't backed by scientific evidence. If you want to try a certain food, go for it. Sex is OK, too, as long as your water hasn't broken. But get your health care provider's OK before trying any other home remedies, herbal supplements or alternative treatments for inducing labor.

1 They are ALL old wives' tales. Even the 'have sex' one has been discredited.

2 Not a great idea at 37 weeks. Sorry.

"Elective induction increases the risk of giving birth to a baby that is near-term (born between 35 and 37 weeks, even when it seems the baby should be 38–40 or even 42 weeks by dates). In spite of their physical appearance, near-term infants are physiologically and developmentally significantly less mature than full-term infants and are at increased risk for mortality and morbidity in the newborn period (Wang, Dorer, Fleming, & Catlin, 2004). The near-term infant is at increased risk for temperature instability, hypoglycemia, respiratory distress, apnea and bradycardia, and clinical jaundice (Wang et al., 2004). The baby's difficulty in coordinating suck/swallow and breathing abilities contributes to problems with feeding; subsequently, poor feeding adds an increased risk of hyperbilirubinemia (Sarici et al., 2004). Near-term infants are 2.4 times more likely than full-term infants to develop significant hyperbilirubinemia (Sarici et al., 2004). Even “well” near-term infants who have a normal hospital stay are at increased risk for hospital readmittance, most frequently due to inadequate feeding and to jaundice..."

there is no real way. to be honest like the doctors say baby will come when ready. just got to be patient. im 38weeks and i have been ready for a while too. too much pain. you can try the natural ways but some of them they suggest not to try. just google inducing labor. it comes up with a few things. good luck.

Go for a walk or eat something yummy.Don't do anything crazy to get it going like my hubby wanted me to.My due date was on the fourth of july and he tried all this internet sugestions on me to tey to induce my labor. We even asked my Dr. to schedual an induction on the fourth.I don't recomend forcing nature. It sucks and you just get yourself sick.I was induced in the 5th(4th holiday, short staffed)and my son was born 20 hrs later at 2:05 am on the 6th.Just be patient.

Patience...believe it or not, you'll miss having her so close to you all the time.

A newborn baby is a lot to deal with, and I know you are anxious to meet your sweet pink baby girl, but a pregnancy is supposed to last at least 40 weeks! You've come this far, just be patient!

Babies come when they want to or don't want to! Your body will decide. Some women have been successful in bringing on contractions without drastic results, some haven't been as fortunate.
It does get tiring but hey, enjoy it while you can because once that child gets here, you will have very little time to yourself!
