The life and music of Isreal Kamakawiwo'ole.

This music and lyrics brushes over my soul and skin like a symphony of violins. I can see you understand that feeling by your selections of music. http://www.geocities.com/~olelo/iz-themanandhismusic.html#izcompohanaremember
This site does not give out the sound of his music, or even a sampling, however you may be able to go to http://www.amazon.com for short samples of the albums mentioned on the links. You have to hear, not just read to feel the spirit of his music. (asyou know)

Also, Mary Englebert's art style which isn't exclusive to canvas, or solitary art, but plastered onto working everyday items (cabinets, chest of drawers, appliances, chairs etc) is something that brings a visual calmness to my being. The vivid bright colors on black backround (like rainbows in the dark) has some kind of loving effect to me.

Forrest Gump always makes my eyes well up, even if I only catch the end. I love cartoon movies too (mainly Disney), like Finding Nemo, Cars and Surf's Up
Far and Away with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman and an old movie that always touches my heart is The Champ with Rick Schroeder (then he was Ricky)

Also Hawai'ian fire dancers and hula dancers are very soul invigorating. The visual stimulation accompanied by the drumming is nothing short of amazing. The best CD for listening to the drumming I have found is called "South Pacific Drums" @ amazon.com

Excellent question, it was a pleasure to share with you.

I'm terrible with song titles, but there's one addressing Vincent, and something about Starry, starry night....you know which one I mean....You've probably played it yourself. I weep every time I hear it, not just the lyrics but the melody itself. It's so haunting.

The movie that brings forward a gush of tears is an oldie: "Imitiation of Life", the original version with Hattie McDaniel, more so than the updated one with Lana Turner. I think that's who was in the more modern one. It's about a light-skinned black girl who passed herself off as white. But it was the way she treated her mother that got to me. At the end during the funeral procession, she finally was filled with remorse for all the hurt she caused her mom, and during that scene there wasn't a single dry eye in the audience. ( Well, now you know how maudlin I am when I'm not trying to be funny).......

Amazing Grace, National Anthem, When A Man Loves A Woman, and the one by the Righteous Brothers. Gosh! I hate it when I can't remember stuff like this. It's on the tip of my tongue. Oh well, the Righteous Brothers does the song.

Cool - MacArthur Park does it to me, also. And you plain have to butcher it for it to fail, but Danny Boy will do it - for some reason I'm unaware of, Linda Ronstadt's Goodbye My Friend, and Carly Simon's Coming Around Again do it to me every time. Seeing anything done by Egon Schiele moves me deeply.
