you should let it dry naturally.. don't try turn it on.. until you are sure that it's fully dried.. there is a way of applying alcohol on the laptop and let it evaporate with the water. but i don't recommand it.

and you didn't know it was sittin in the pool for 24 hrs?!

Oohh...wow, 24 hours...hmm, well I doubt that it is repairable. But I do suggest that if you really, really like your laptop and want to fix it, bring it to an electronics store like Best Buy or Circuit City, and have them take a look at it and see what they can do. If they can't do anything about it, send it back to the Sony company and see if they can repair it and have them email you to give you their answer/results. If all else fails, your last option is to buy a new laptop. Hope this helps and good luck =)!!

If you are NOT meanwhile (after you pull out him from pool) connect him into the current (voltage) there is big possibility to repair him. Just remove screws with screw driver, wipe and dry with soft paper (toilete paper or paper towel) or tea-cloth all electronics part in them, with especially consideration open HD and CD/DVD or floppy and carefully wipe this devices, same action apply to the LCD screen and after you are EVERYTHING wipe and dry youi can contact laptop on the current and it has to work! But if you are connect him in current while he was damp (moist) forget repairment. Veradisca & Best Regards, Neven.

Allow it to dry for 48 hours or more. (Excessive is good, you dont want ANY moisture in there when you start it)

Once it is fully dry, you can try starting it. If it was in a pool some of the components may be damaged because of residue in the water, but you may be perfectly fine!
