If he stares at you he may like you. Also depends on your appearance, if you have something foaming from the mouth.
Talk to him. That is the only sure fire way to figure it out. Bring a friend that day in case he doesn't respond well. You may want a shoulder to cry on or laugh with depending on his answer.
He could also have a staring problem. There are some people that do just stare out of intrigue, ignorance, or are just plain nutters.
Now ask me this again and I will have to get a little "physical" with you. :)
(EDIT) Are you shy in person Mac??? You seem very outgoing and courageous when it comes to be here (eg. bukakke) A shy person doesn't talk like this LOL. So it makes me wonder if you have two sides to you. I cannot discuss this with you however because you are like a hidden mystery LMAO! Be strong in real life like you are here. It will work out. Straight guys rarely hold eye contact more than a fraction of a second, and never let their eyes wander downward, unless something draws their attention, like an open fly or a wet spot.
If he holds eye contact, or if his eyes wander down your body and your fly is not open or anything to draw him there, he's checking you out. That is not something straight guys do.
That does not mean, however, he is even out of the closet. It's not enough to go on to decide whether he really wants to take it further. If he does, he'll chat you up, hang around, etc.
