No! Wearing a sanitary napkin in a pool is so... unsanitary! It will contaminate the pool water! It will take up water. When you get out, everyone will realize you are wearing one because it will swell (making it big) and then drip like crazy (and the water may not be clear, if you know what I mean). Don't do it, please.

Im with the other ladies on this one honey. You cant wear a pad in the pool as it will absorb all the water just like it does your period and it would make the pool dirty and the sticky may not work and therefore it would come off. Its fine to wear a tampon for a couple of hours in the pool, take it out after and put a pad back on.
Have fun with your friends babe. x

NEVER wear pads in the pool. They will look like a diaper when they get wet. If you are going to go swimming you HAVE to wear a tampon. You CAN'T go in without one. No tampon= no pool. Since your mom won't let you wear one, it looks like you will have to sit out. You can always just dangle your legs in the pool. You just can't jump in.
Water DOES NOT stop a period. it just washes away the blood.

No! it will soak up water right away and be useless, and come floating out and be really embarrassing... that's dumb that you're not allowed to use tampons. swimming is like the most appropriate time to wear a tampon! You should just get some and keep them hidden and only use them when you go swimming.

An increase in discharge is the reason many pregnant women do so. Pregnancy increases cervical mucous and so you wear them for protection from that. Also some women later on in pregnancy have a bit of incontinence and when they sneeze or cough etc. a few drops of urine come out... so the pads protect against that as well.

No, it will soak up the water, disintegrate, and little chunks from the pad will float around.
Why aren't you allowed to use a tampon? Just tell your Dad that it's impossible to go swimming without one, and say that you can use them just for swimming if that would make him feel more comfortable with the idea.
