Have had cancer 5 times and 3 different types.
Twice I came so close to dying that the doctors asked me if I had a living will & anyone I'd like them to contact.
While I was laying in that hospital bed the last time with 7 tumors eating away at me. I started thinking, this can't be my time to go. I was in a great deal of 'pain' but I didn't feel as if I was dying and I proved the doctors wrong.
One day they'll be correct but its not today.

Every day I've lived, technically. Same for all of us! But here's a list of some close calls.

I was born premature and developed pneumonia while being in the incubator. Made it! (Obviously!)

In my teen years, I developed yet another--and serious--case of pneumonia that got me out of school for two months, and I was hospitalized for about a month of that time. Made it!

My senior year of high school, I was in a pickup truck that rolled. Made it!

In my mid twenties, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease Lymphoma. That's a cancer of the lymphatic system. Made it!

Three years later, I relapsed. I got a autologous stem cell transplant with high dose chemo. Made it!

One year later, I relapsed. I received a donor stem cell transplant using my mother as my donor (she was a 6/10 match, which is what my medical team wanted as part of a clinical trial). That was last year. You're reading this. So... made it!

Various Graft Verses Host complications and bacterial infections spanned throughout the year leading to this point. Now those are nothing greater than a random patch of a skin rash every now and again, or perhaps an angry stomach. But I'm back at work, feeling gradually better all the time, and life is more or less back to normal.

I know I'm going to go sooner or later. I choose later.
