Do Soul-mates truly exist & if they do how do you know when you have found yours?

i have met someone recently who has described me as their soulmate. i'm not that sure about him. please help.

i believe my husband is my soulmate, but then i believe a soulmate can be a friend or relative, just someone you are meant to know and really bond with in your lifetime. i would say my best frind is my soulmate aswell. when i met and got to know my husband i could just see myself getting old with him and i think thats important:)

My fiance is my soulmate. We cannot be without each other. We know each others thoughts, feelings. We feel like we have known each other forever. I've even met him in a dream before we even met in person.

One time we went to the mall with some friends, and he went into an oriental shop. The lady in there told my fiance that he was a part of something really good, but she didn't know which one he was, yin or yang. When I walked into the store, she knew exactly who I was before he even said anything to me. She figured it out.

At one point, I scared him because I treated him better than anyone has ever treated him, so he left me and went back to his abusive ex. It didn't take us very long to realize we were soul-mates, we couldn't be without each other. He is my other half. I'm his yin, he is my yang.

Everyone has a soul-mate. It just takes some people longer than others to find their soul-mate. It may or may not be in this life-time or the next.. But soul-mates eventually find each other.

If this person is your soul-mate, you'll figure it out. Things just tend to "click" into place. Trust me on this one, I speak from experience.

I've been in relationships where the pair of us thought we were soul mates. They ended, just like the rest. I put that down to the 'love is blind' syndrome. Then i my my partner and i knew, beyond a doubt that this time we really were.
We feel 100% comfortable with each other. Can completely be ourselves. 100% per cent trust, pacing around when the other is out of the house, and we think so much alike. As for the love, well...apart from my own children, i had no idea i could actually love another person so much. Its been a very rocky road for him as i have real problems with trust and the love thing scares the hell out of me. But he's still here. Still behind me and still loving me.

He & I would finish each other sentences, I knew what he liked to drink,eat, wear, cologne and all of this came from our first meeting. He told me things about myself that only a few people knew and none of them knew him.Its a feeling that you know, the first time you met this person was it like talking to one of your really close friends or family member? Do you and this person tend to finish each other's sentences without trying to do so? When you and him are together do you feel like this comfortable like your favorite tshirt? You can have many 'soul mates' in life and the thing they all have in common is that you recognise them. Within days you feel you have known them all your life! They are the friends and family you never have to say sorry to, the ones who don't need to fill up the time you spend with them in idle chit-chat and the ones who always know how you will react to certain situations. They may share your life for years or just be around for a certain length of time to help you through the rough patches or you help them through theirs!
My husband is a good loving man and my ideal partner of 37 years but he isn't my soul-mate! My son is one though!

There is a need for those who have soul mates to find that person in each cycle. However, while in the physical cycle they have all the limitations of any other person. They can be looking too hard.

The whole soul mate thing has been so misunderstood for so long. It isn't about a one true love, it is about the souls you travel with through your lifetimes on this earth. Soul mates can be family members and best friends, but it can also be those who challenge you, teachers, even people who make your life miserable on a regular bases.

For those who don't believe in reincarnation you can think of them as souls assigned to be apart of your life, and you apart of theirs by whatever god you believe in so that you may learn and grow in this one life.

For those who don't believe in any of it, its kind of a mote point so why bother answering...

I don't think each soul has one specific "mate".

I think there are several souls that are important to each other in kind of a network. They'll keep meeting each other over and over again, and they'll recognize that they are significant to each other, but it won't always be in the exact same way.

A love in this life might be a sibling in the next. Both are important connections, but different dynamics might offer new things to learn and new ways to balance karma.

Not everyone has a soul-mate. Do you say the same things at the same time? Do you think along the same lines? Do you interact well with each other, for example where you are weak at something your soul-mate will be strong and vice-versa.
