I want to know why you want to know these things and think someone in Answers is going to tell you "details of all companies in Denver?" You're not serious, right? Do you have any idea what you're asking for? And you've mixed many types of questions in the same post. "How people of Denver..?" How people of Denver do what??

This is information far more advanced that a simple Q&A can give you. You need to start using a search engine or go to a library and do this research yourself!

Denver is state capital, and is the hub of what is really a large metropolitan area that stretches as far north as Fort Collins (60ish miles north on I25) and is rapidly moving south towards Colorado Springs (60ish miles south on I25). This includes towns/cities like Boulder, Broomfield, Longmont, Loveland to the north. Each of these towns has it's industries. There is a fair amount of high tech around Boulder/Broomfield area. IBM, Seagate to name a few. These companies draw off the University of Colorado graduates primarily, but then again CU is a big employer in Boulder. Hewlett Packard has facilities in Loveland and Fort Collins as well as Colorado Springs. My nephew works for HP in Colorado Springs.

In Denver proper there are high tech opportunities, I believe one of the larger employers for high tech is Qwest. There is the state governments, the Denver Mint, United Airlines (Denver is their hub along with Chicago).

I don't get the sense that there is a single dominate industry, with the possible exception of the ski industry in Colorado. Just a diverse mix.
