No it's 1 to 36, not 1 to 38, or 0 or 00. Trust me, I've lost money playing it.

So there are 38 different slots on the wheel.

The probability of it landing on a specific number is 1/38 assuming the wheel is a fair wheel (ie the probability the ball lands in a slot is the same for each slot).

1/38 = 0.0263

So there's a 2.63% chance of landing on 7.

Probability would be 1 in 40 that it would stop on 7. But I think that a roulette wheel goes only to 36. So, then the odds would be 1 in 38.

Those who say that a standard roulette wheel has 1 to 36 are correct. Some casino's still use the wheel that has only 1 Zero in one slot, so there are only 37 slots on that wheel. It is obviously the best wheel to play because the chances of loosing to Green 0 are cut in half.

If it really has those numbers 0-38 plus double zero then there are 40 equally probable stopping points. So the odds of 7 are 1 out of 40.
