Yes, I enjoyed the movie for nostalgic reasons: I'm also a nuyorican and I was a teenager back in the 70's.
"Being a New York Puerto Rican, I couldn't have found a better story to start with," Lopez says. "Doing the story of Hector Lavoe -- salsa icon, musical icon in the Latino community -- a movie that had music in it, it really, really fit all the things I'm passionate about."
A pioneer in Latin music during the '60s and '70s, Lavoe was a charismatic performer who seemed to be torn between professional success and personal tragedy. The movie chronicles his life through the eyes of his wife, played by Lopez, with whom he had a rocky relationship, to say the least. Lopez' own husband, singer Marc Anthony, plays Lavoe, and the actress had no problems leaving the screenplay's marital conflict on the set. In fact, she found working with Anthony "very comfortable" and the whole experience a "blessing," saying, "When I put him in the movie five and a half years ago, I never thought that we'd be together at this time. Who knew that? Y'know? But we were and that actually helped. I guess everything is destiny and fate and all that kind of stuff." http://movies.msn.com/movies/hitlist/08-03-07

Why waste ur money?
No one will touch them or offer them any kind of screen deal because they cant act ot lost touch with the public. Thats why they made a movie about themselves.
