He can only put a little gas in at a time. Very little then the nozzle clicks off. Please any with a similiar problem or a mechanic please reply. I need to know what the problem is or how to fix it.

Vent valve is not working.Dealer fix or look at the fill neck there is a hose follow it . Also it might return ot the top of the tank??

I don't think he has a problem here. It is not the fault of the car but the fault( if there is one) in the pump nozzle. The pump nozzle has a mechanism built into it to stop you over filling your tank and spilling the fuel out so that when it sensors fuel is backed up around the nozzle it shuts of the fuel. All the Mercedes i have ever put fuel into have at some time done what you are describing.It is just a case of not inserting the nozzle so far into the tank filler and not pulling trigger so hard so that a slower flow of fuel goes into the tank.

Yes, Mick D is right. I have an 83 model and it does the same thing. You just have to be patient. Put the nozzle about half to 3/4 of the way in and don't squeeze the trigger all the way.
