What kind of fish are good with female bettas? Are African Dwarf Frogs good tank mates for them?
My original plan was to have 4 female bettas and maybe an ADF or 2 in the tank. (It's a 10 gallon.)

ADF get along great with beta's male or female. You can keep several females together however DO NOT keep more than one male per tank as they will fight to the death. We have had female bettas in with platy's and mollys successfully. We however have a much larger tank. The amount of fish you mentioned would be a nice fit in a 10 gal Just be sure you have allowed time for the tank to cycle (develop a bio filter of positive bacteria) before adding all the fish. You can speed that process by purchasing a product called CYCLE at petsmart/petco Another tip to remember is that betas are surface breathers so it is essential that they be able to reach the surface to breath. Also make sure to remember to do your weekly 30% water changes where you vacuum the gravel and remove 30% of the water and then add fresh water along with a product to remove chlorine etc such as stress coat and you will have a happy healthy set up.

African dwarf frogs get a long great with female Betta's i have a 29 gallon with 7 frogs. I have a female Betta in the tank and some other fish. And they all get a long great. You can even put male Betta's in with ADF. I actually have seem my female Betta and a frog at the top of my tank in a corner. and the frog was floating right next to the Betta. The Betta pay no mind to the frog.. Good Luck

Female bettas are peaceful fish that will not fight another female, but a female betta might fight a male betta or pick on smaller fish. It is best to keep female bettas alone, with other female bettas, or with fish the same size as them.

Some females WILL fight, so trying to keep two of them in a small space (say one or two gallons) is NOT recommended. However, with enough space they normally do just fine. This may shock you though... the same is true of the males. When the males fight, it's over territory. So keeping two together in a small environment will lead to some serious battles. Give them space - say, two or three of them in a long 30 gallon aquarium - and they do just fine. One of my favorite aquariums was a 20 gallon tall with five females (and a black ghost knife). It was highly, highly planted. It really was a cool tank, and a pleasure to sit and watch.

your original plan sounds fine. sometimes adfs will try to eat smaller fish but they are seldom successful. if you see your adf with a betta in its mouth don't worry too much -- they just latch on sometimes.

that would be pushing it, but you can ge away with 2 ADFs make sure they are ADFS not ACF.

ACFs will get to big and will eat a female betta or small fish.

Sounds like a nice setup, just don't forget that you will need to provide an lot of live plants though
