Tough question.
America's Got Talent seems kinda wannabe-ish.
But American Idol can get boring.
America's Got Talent is more interesting to watch but American Idol is better to follow.

Anyway, I'd go with American Idol.

America's Got Talent, for sure.

I hate American Idol. It's fake, it gets too much hype, and the judges try to mold all the contestants to be the same person. I can't say AGT is completely un-fake, but it's got diversity and people don't talk about it like it's the apocolypse.

Never watched either, life is too short to waste in front of a small controlling box. Only screen I see is laptop, and cinema.
