I love the Geico Cavemen. I think whoever thought that up is pure genius. It's very catchy and recognizable. My 6 year old niece asked my for a caveman doll. So I would say it reaches all ages.

Very much. They make me laugh. I will watch atleast a few episodes of the new sitcom, and see how it goes. The network has a good premise to work with-cavemen trying to manage in a 2007 world. Hopefully people with watch, and hold an open mind. I suppose if you do not take them too seriously, their show could be a hit.

I love the concept of the cavemen, but want to reach into my TV and smack them just out of frustration - a very primitive response, but genuine....
I go absolutely bonkers seeing these guys behaving so much like us, doing the same things! In our overly-sensitive (some would say "paranoid") country of the good ol' USA, we have not only lost our sense of humor, we whine and cry every time we perceive someone to be dissin' us - and we can't go on with our lives until these others - another gang, neighbor, or ad campaign manager as in the case of the cavemen - learn the error of their ways....
I am therefore not so sure I can stand to watch the same thing on TV that I see every day out in real life: It's like watching the news or yet another talk show - only with cavemen...
(Just stood up on my soapbox - sorry!)
Now, let's apply that to a specific Geico caveman commercial - the one in the therapist's office. (Have the credentials to be a therapist myself, but have never partaken except on a volunteer, free-clinic basis ;-). If I were the therapist in that scene and Mr. Caveman Crybaby whined to me like he does to that lady about how his delicate little psyche is damaged by the insensitivity of the comment "So easy even a caveman can do it" , I would simply tell him that, tough as it is, it is only a campaign ad written by some insensitive Neanderthal - nothing more or less. I would dispense with the Freudian mumbo jumbo and tell him that he can't go through life worried about what other people think of him - no way no how.
I would then finish the session by telling him that he knows he is a worthwhile Cro-Magnon, I know he is a worthwhile Cro-Magnon, and he's living in a cave if he thinks he is ever going to live a life free of idiots who will simply accept him or anyone else simply on merit. These Neanderthals are a part of life, so don't worry about them. Live your life in happiness, little Cro-Magnon man, because the world is your cave - and the rest of us are simply bats flying around whom you must tolerate. Like the song says, "Don't worry, be happy"!
End of session. I take cash, credt card, or Pay Pal. Have a happy life, and send me a picture of your cave, 'cause I really want to see what your Surround Sound looks like covered in bat guano.. And do you really club your girl on the head and drag her around your "Man cave"? If so, we need about ten more sessions, and even more once the feminists see the episode....

Yes, I can't wait until these guys have their own reality based television series. They are almost sexy! Almost?
I love the one about the psychiatrist office......'why, because psychiatrist are (short pause) smart?
hold on my mother's calling, I'll put it on speaker phone!
But I especially love the original one about the guy taking them to the restaurant and saying, " ....if we really knew you guys still existed......."
Then the first guy, after being asked if he is ready to order, say's I'm not really that hungry." I love the expression on his face."
Then the other guy, speaks up and says, "I'll have the orange duck!" Gotta love those guys!
Do they have names?
I heard some of the newer commercials calling one of their caveman buddies by name, but these originals, I've never heard them being called by their name?

No, and I can't believe ABC canceled George Lopez's show and replacing it with a show about this cave man raising a family in Atlanta. Can you say Canceled?

The commercials are cute, I don't see an entire show about them making it for very long though.
