There are a couple viruses/worms out now that are sending out millions of messages like that everyday attacking Windows computers. Someone you know has the virus on their computer and it will keep emailing you until they fix their computer. There is not much you can do, just don't open the attachments (like a greeting card).

Make sure you have an good up to date anti virus package installed and running (www.avast.com for a good free one)

other than that, not a lot you can do once you are on the spammers lists, other than get a new email address. I have my own domain so that if I need to I can kill 1 email address and make a new one, and set the old one to forward through an alternate server to filter it, so I can make sure I don't miss emails I do want.

Most likely the people if you know who the emails are from have the infected virus on theres and its harvesting their address book to replicate the virus they got and send it to everyone in the respective list

I too get these mails in my Yahoo account. The best option is mark them as Spam, so that any more mails in future will move to your 'Spam' or 'Bulk' folder.
