Very little. The offense is going to be the worst in the nfl. You will be this seasons Raiders I am afraid.

You're defenitely biased. You can't count on a bunch of guys coming off of injuries (Chad Greenway, Erasmus James, Mike Doss, Tank Williams) to shore up their defense, which was 31st against the pass last year. The fact is that the Vikings apply zero pressure on the quarterback, and the linebackers can't cover any TE or RB in the league. The run defense is awesome, because the two Williams' just have to keep thier big 'ol butts in one spot to stop the run.
Offensively, it's a mess. Tarvaris might be good (I'm not as sure as you are), but he is left handed, making his blind side the right. Can you name the two guys on the right side of the O-line? It's Atis Hicks and Ryan Cook. Good luck.
Also, until the Vikes can prove a passing threat, other teams will stack 8, or even 9 defenders on the line, making life miserable for Peterson and Chester Taylor. That may take a while, with a bunch of rookie receivers and cast-offs like Bobby Wade and stone-hands Williamson.

I'm going for best Answer!
The Vikings will go 11-5 in a weak NFC! Peterson will defy all logic and stay healthy for the entire season gaining 1500 yds while scoring 18 TD's!? Tarvaris will also defy all sporting logic and become the NFC starter in the Probowl, while breaking Culpepper's passing TD records in Minnesota! The run defense will be very good (WOW I didn't have to lie about that one!) and the pass will be good enough to hold people down!

To be honest I think you're a little biased, too.
However, the Vikings do have one big thing going for them; they play in a fairly weak division, so their schedule isn't that tough.
I think their defense is good, and they should implement a very run-heavy, ball-control offense. This won't make them the most thrilling team to watch, but I think it will give them a shot to win enough games to have a chance at a wild card spot in the playoffs.
I think the Vikings will go about 8-8 and possibly get a wild card spot much like the Giants did last season with that same record in a weak NFC.

I don't see the Vikes doing much this year. Jackson lacks experience and lacks any quality WRs. They will live or die by the ground game. Also their secondary is very questionable, ranked 27th in the league last year. I see Minnesota at 7-9 at best.

I've been a Vikings season ticket holder for 6 years now and I'm less excited for this season than any other in recent memory. You can't have a rookie QB and no receivers. We'll struggle to stay above .500.
GO VIKES!

they should be a contender this year. With Peterson in the back field and jackson running the show, look out.. i see a 10-6 or 9-7 season. You never know.

they didnt really do much to inhance their secondary. they did on the other hand pick up the best player in the draft this year. AD will run for 1,000 yards in only 7 starts and 217 carries.
