This is for only Indians.Is it advisable to celebrate mother's day,Father's day like days in India?

Question

In India we will normally be living withour parents and even we are working at a disstance ,we meet them and are in constant contacyt with them.Almost we will be talking to them every week we are in a different place.So under these coditions is it relevant to celebrate Mother's Day etc?
Please kindly give a thought and do not redicule.
I love parents,freinds and neighbours.
In Indian point of view I would like to know.

I welcome anything good and follow it.loving parents and wishing them well and expressing our love is great.I do not say anything against it.But in India we live under their guidance and constantly with them.In Indian Continent ,in Indian religion,In INDIA is it necessary to celebrate these DAYS?That is my question.I am not telling these days are not to be followed ,or bad or anything like that.Please understand and Indians living in India please give your opinion.Maatru devo Bhava,Pitru devo Bhava ,aachaarya Devo Bhava.I know it.They are living Gods before our eyes.

Dear ruuuu,there are 3 Runaas as per vedas.they are Deva Runam,Rishi Runam, and mata pitru Runam.
By doing yagnas and and performing Homas you pay back Deva Runam.This also purifies the atmosphere and makes our living conditions better.
By daily offering prayers and saying Sankalpam , in that saying your Rishis as per Gotrams ,we pay back our Rishi runam.By serving the parents while they are live and in need ,physically helping and seing that they are always happy and comfortableand healthy you pay back to some extent maata Pitru runam.Not by offering gifts.Please read our great indian scriptures please.I appreciate your views.I encourage you to read further please.

My mother was with
me for 34 years till she passed away.I was getting her blessings everyday,I used to help her feel happy as far as possible.She was alwayd smiling and a living Goddesss to me .Unfortunately at 85 she passed away.I lost my father when I was young .So I know what mother is.

Dear ChandraSekhar nk ji,thank you for your good answer.Please understand that Iam not against anything that honours our elders and for that matter that keeps people really happy mentally.But In Indian point of view I asked is it relevant?I appreciate your Sivaratriexample.good.But we have Indian festivals,rituals and somany things in parents too are always involved.Then is it necessary and relevant in INDIA for these days observation.I did not say it is wrong.But give advise to our youth im the Indian way,as per Indian Culture.Thank you.I have a great respect to your answers.

i am an Indian like u and agree with u to some extent.It is right these are not indian traditions, ( celeberating mothers/fathers day ) no need to celebrate these two day. But now I would like to ask u a question If u call your Mother or Father on these particular days and just wish them and tell them that u love/respect them, i dont thnik there will be anything wrong with it. Like today was Friendship day, I have not had any celeberations or party but a few good friends either callled or sent a sms wishing me a happy friendship day and i also did the same. every one was was pleased and no Indian tradition broken. Yes there is No need for the Celebration of Mother Day Father Day in INDIA as we are always under there guidance and we are living with them we know them very well and they know us very well But in Foreign they dont know what is the parent Children relationship Importance so there is no need to celebrate in INDIA but it is need in Foreign.

father's or mother's day are western concepts,though you love your mother and father,have you ever living together with your family appreciated anybody??? or even to your mother ever? when the concept is acceptable why do we INDIAN,in the name of culture try to boast? Just appreciate even to your servant, and see the reaction!!!!! We like to imitate and accept western style,as also we will not mind talking in English even at home?!!? bit we aill start opposing valentine day or mother or father days. We do have rakshabandhan day,what brother do for his sister,what is wrong in it? same way if in a year,wer give special treatment to our mother or father or loved one,what in name of culture we are losing????? I appreciate your love and affection towards parents hats of to you sir. Yes mother is a great and she is living goddess that children can feel at ease & to have . mom.To all of us here alomost in any festivals we honour great mothers we have here we give them kumkum flower fruits sweets take blessings as they are great as mothers we call them as muthaide in kannada it has a purity and sanctity and an honour . So we always celebrate mothers' day whenever you feel like you can celebrate mother's day there. The other thing I would like to tell you is matr rin and pitr run that children have this you can never give themback because they are the creators of children like you and me or anybody...i.e. kids. so this bond is great gift of God to us . Now a days some people have come up always to find fault with other nations .
If other nations have a small mote on their respective eyes ,India has a big beam in her eye.

Why can't you accept it if you are a man of good conscience.?

In India , is a man like you ready to give his daughter in marriage to a man of a lower caste.They don't want to touch each other in marriage.

Just touch your conscience and say :
Do you Love and Respect the people of all Castes equally?.

Do you sit ,talk ,eat ,drink with all Caste people and treat them all equally.
Every caste hates other castes in a bitter and cunning manner.
Every caste wishes the down fall and collapse of the other Caste.

You speak of Nonviolence in India .
Then why there are Caste Clashes now and then and people die in numbers.

What happened in India during 1947 ( during the India -Pakistan Partition )

Around 20,00,000 people were killed due to the Clash between the Hindus and the Muslims.

Villages , Towns and Cities were burning and the smoke blocked the sun.

The whole atmosphere was filled with smoke .

The atmosphere was just echoing with people's mourning ,weeping ,wailing , crying , shouting and screaming.

Children ,babies , pregnants , young and the old were mercilessly killed.

Many babies and youn children died of starvation.

The Victory of both sides were counted by the number of women both group raped.

Thouands and thousands of women were made naked and run along the streets and along the high ways
Women were gang-raped .
People happened to see train-loads of dead bodies with their own eyes .

Womens breasts were cut off and they ran for their lives screaming on the roads naked.

200 Muslim women were made naked and compelled to dance throughout night in the Amristar Golden Temple.

Families were scattered and number of them could not meet there after.They were seperated for ever.

What would be have been the mental agony of thousands of children among such inhuman and bloody massacres?.

Even today the same thing in a form or other continues in India .

Is there right for the oppressed people to enter in to the Temples.?

Even today the front page of School books teach :

Untouchability is a Sin ,
Untouchability is a Crime ,
Untouchability Inhuman .

The above Sinners ,the Criminals and the Inhuman beings speak proudly like this .

I don't want to explain things in more detail because people like you don't want to understand things.

You too belong to one of the two above groups.

Then , In spite of such evil ,foolish and unfortunate things ,why are some people like you try to disgrace other nations and praise India for her Peace ,nonviolence ... this and that ?.

Some portions of the Muslim as well as the Hindu Scriptures strongly recommand to kill their enemies . On the basis of such Scriptural Teachings only both the Hindus and the Muslims Clashed and are continuing to Clash.

There can never be peace between the Hindus and the Muslims as long as the Earth Exists.

If things are such, why are Indians often feel proud of peace and non-violence which has been absent in India.?
