Do they exist any more? And if so, why?
Over seven decades I have seen the shift from the 'traditional' gender roles to a state where there is far more sharing of roles and less macho demands for service (of whatever).
Apart from child birth I do not think there are - or should be gender roles, or expectations. There are things to be done and, in my book, the person best able to do them, does them.
I think gender roles are the last defence of inadequates.

Outside what is legal and moral (per my teachings), and the defined responsibilities of my paid job, I generally reject forced roles. I am an individual. What is considered stereotypical or traditional of women does not necessarily apply to me. I am no average woman. If you try to force me to become someone, I will fight back. If you leave me to my own devices, I may just choose to be what you're looking for in the first place.

Do I enjoy traditional gender roles? In this home we treat one another with love and respect... I see when hubby needs TLC and I give it to him...
He does not act like an azz to get his way in anything, he just gets it, because I see how hard he works, and how devoted he is to us... This makes me wanna make him happy in it be dinner or what ever he wants...
I don't wear an apron all day long and he doesn't expect me to....

I would prefer to be in a more traditional gender role, but my upbringing and modern life does not embrace it...I am capable but not necessarily happy or feel that I fit in

That depends on what you mean by traditional roles. I love the fact that men open doors for me but I also love working on my Jeep and mowing the lawn.

I would if there were another gender in my house yesterday I killed a gigantic spider in the br topped off the fluids in my car and then baked a cake did all those things in damn high heeled sandals really i just want a man in the house to kill the spiders geez this one was so big I had to beat it with a shoe. -
