I am currently applying for this job at a children's museum and they are asking me for my work experience. I babysit my nephew every Thursday and get paid $10/hr. Is that considered a job that I can put on my resume?

Yes, it is. Most government assisted child care payment programs pay people for watching their own family members children.

That being said, make sure when you do your resume, you make it look professional. Put something like "Child Care - Cared for a young child for (how long). Provided services such as (name things like diapering, feeding 3 or 4 course meals, story telling, snack time, nap time). You want it to look like you're a pro at what you did & that you would be a great asset to them if they were to hire you!

Good luck, hope you get the job!

Yes, it certainly is. You are being held to a standard and being paid (quite well) for it. Don't fib and pretend it is for a non-relative and don't be vague about some kind of general babysitting so it seems like you were hiding the relationship if they ask for details.

Yes definitely! It'll show that you have had some great experience with kids and that you're a responsible individual. I'd have your aunt/uncle write you a reference as well. A reference is a letter someone writes to places you are applying to, telling them your good qualities and what they think of you as an employee.

Good luck! :)

I say "looking after my son" (I merely approximately in no way say "I could" yet "i'm"). My spouse maintains to be at residing house and that i paintings outdoors of residing house. If I could be working yet can no longer because of the fact my spouse is sick or has an appointment I say "I could babysit", no longer that I see it as a chore, despite if it facilitates clarify as quickly as I can not paintings for the time of frequent working hours; different than that I say "i'm looking after my son" or "i'm spending time with my son". possibly different men say "babysitting" many of the time because of the fact they assume they couldn't often guard them, or because of the fact they see it as a chore instead of a proper. I see it as the two. i'm hoping i'm understood, I do agree that it is daddy accountability/proper

Why not, depending on your nephew, it might even be hard work. I will say this though, you aren't going to dazzle anyone with this history. It is however better than nothing. They may want to interview your nephew, have you treated him well?
