A tortured Rebel Pilots tells them that it was a young pilot named Luke Skywalker who had destroyed the Death Star. And then Vader kills the Rebel and the bounty hunter who bought him in to keep it a secret from the Emperor, unsure of what Palpatine would do with Luke.

The Emperor didn't actually come right out and say, Luke is your son.

What he said was, The son of Skywalker must not become a Jedi and he said he had no doubt that the young rebel was the offspring of Annakin Skywalker... Then he told Vader to search his feelings.

Vaders thoughts and feelings had been polluted by The Dark Side and it took a while for him to realize what the emperor meant.

1) I think its the 1st one.. At a point Darth says something like "i'm sensing something from long ago" - referring to Luke when he is rescuing Leia and before Darth kills obi wan. 2) The empire strikes back 3) The jedi go into hiding and the empire gains full power. Luke is sent to live with his "aunt" and "uncle" (under the watchful eye of obi wan) and leia is sent to live as the princess of Alderaan. 4) The biggest difference that everyone raves about is the scene in the cantina (bar) on tatooine where han solo shoots greedo.. in the original greedo never shot han, in the remake they made greedo shoot first so that han doesn't look like such a badass.... Also they added in a small scene when they board the millennium falcon. Its just a minute or two long and introduces Jabba the hut, it was originally filmed using an actor and when digital tech caught up they replaced the actor with a cgi jabba and put the scene in. 5) Most of my questions pertain to Han Solo and Chewbacca as they were my favourite characters.. So no, they didn't really answer anything for me personally... It was good to know the history behind why and how Anakin became Darth Vadar. I had always assumed Yoda went into hiding as a way to protect himself and the legacy of the Jedi. Cool question, was fun to answer.... I wonder if as I answer this there will be other more informed answers..

I always presumed that as it goes with wars, rumors drift back and forth. And through one of those rumors or a captured rebel he learned about who destroyed the Death Star.
