Yeah. Just learn to assert yourself and not be a people-pleaser. The best definition I've heard of assertiveness is letting someone else know your needs in a friendly way. Assertiveness and aggressiveness are two different things.

Being too nice can also mean a fear of not being liked. That's a tightrope that we all have to walk.

Yes I have.
And I take it as an insult.

Why do people think they have the right to tell you that you're too nice?

Now...if I'm told I'm soooo nice...that's another story (I put some extra ooo to make up for your missing one...that's how nice I am).
People should choose their words more carefully.

i anticipate you recommend IRL. whilst i replaced into an atheist, i did no longer make a factor of asserting it. I figured it replaced into my very own enterprise. So, no. Now that i'm a theist, IRL i do no longer make a factor of asserting that the two. I determine it incredibly is my very own enterprise. (So, no comments like, "yet you're to clever for that." :) i've got by no ability considered the factor of asserting my non secular ideals to human beings IRL -- I in many circumstances anticipate they do no longer care. And in the event that they do, like as no longer it incredibly is going to likely be in a conflictual way. Why purchase difficulty? One reason I dislike the obnoxious breed of cyber web atheists is in actuality because of the fact they regarded in all risk to cajole people who all atheists are like them; and whilst i'm a theist now, i do no longer think atheists could be persecuted or hated for their ideals because of the fact their ill-behaved co-believers are noisier and create sampling blunders. (i do no longer think everybody could be persecuted or hated for their non secular ideals; ideals are no longer strikes and would do no harm except translated into strikes, at which factor they quit to be mere ideals.) Atheist or theist, my center values incorporate tolerance and amity; center values do no longer exchange. for the comparable reason, i'm no longer able to stand so-noted as Christians who spout intolerance and insults. Or everybody who does that. (rather, the noisily offensive Christians difficulty me greater desirable than the atheists, because of the fact their habit is concept to be the fabricated from their ideals, and that i finally end up tarred with that brush. it is not, yet useful atheists and theists are, properly, useful, and useful human beings do no longer trumpet their non secular ideals at human beings; this makes it very annoying to become attentive to them as atheists and theists, so the obnoxious type is considered because of the fact the only type.) Silent majorities are like dark depend. The greater desirable area of depend; yet you specific can no longer tell except you already know a great deal greater desirable than maximum human beings do, and forget approximately approximately what's prominently observable.
