In my opinion Seedorf and Frings are better at the defensive side of the game while the other three are more attack minded players. The most technically gifted of these players I would say is Pirlo, followed by Deco, then Scholes, Seedorf and Frings.

1 technically Pirlo, dead balls, long range passing and vision he is an a class of his own at the minute in that department.
2 defensively Frings due to high work rate and tough tackling.
3 Attack, toss of a coin between scholes and seedorf, Personally probably will just go with scholes for the number of goals he scores.
In order of all combined.
1Pirlo
2Scholes
3Seedorf
4Deco
5frings

I would have to take Seedorf overall above Scholes. Scholes is a gritty player with many skills. Seedorf, who everyone thought was over the hill, came through big time this year. He scored many, many important goals with outside shots (ask ManU). Seedorf also does well in maintaining possession, rarely losing the ball. He is very difficult to knock off the ball even in situations when 2-3 players converge on him. With Milan's system of using 2-3 playmakers (Pirlo from the back, Seedorf in the middle, and Kaka up front), his skills are invaluable. Seedorf is rarely the cause of a Milan loss, but Scholes makes many mistakes that cost his team severely. Seedorf is often responsible for wins, with timely goals and assists. Scholes makes many great plays as well. He also scores important goals and has an aggressive attitude that gets his team fired up. But I feel that it is detrimental to his team as well, as he gets stupid yellow and red cards and costs his team with these mistakes. He sometimes gets out of control and single-handedly alters the pace of the game, even when United is doing well. Scholes defense is much better than Seedorfs, but it does not, in my mind, make up for all the negative factors. He is a great player skills-wise, but overall, Seedorf is better in my mind.

to be honest, each has their own specialty, but Iw ill try my best...
1 Scholes- I think he is technically sound, always finds 50/50 balls in the box for goals. But I think he is the best DEFENDER , he can shut down midfielders and create breaks.
2 Seedorf to me, Seedorf is at his be in the 2nd 3rd of the firld creating for the forwards, his is getting old, but still has a good speed burst and makes middle runs
3 Fringgs- very underrated, but he does play on a star studded team. He shined in the world cup.
4 Deco- the best pure OFFENSEMEN out of the goup
5 Pirlo TECHNICAL award for the group. He is sound in every aspect, set piece, defending, and leading a break with Toti

Scholes is good at attacking. He has good shooting and passing ability, but his tackles are awful, which sometimes results yellow card. His technique is good, but not exceptional.

Seedorf is very mature and a bit versatile. Just like Scholes, he can pass, shoot, and score. But he can defend when his team lose ball possession. He is strong and fast although he is ageing. His technique is among the best in Europe.

Frings is an 'anchor' player in midfield who does 'dirty job' to take the ball from opponents' midfielders. His performance is good, and can play in the middle as well as the right flank. He has good shooting ability, but he is not a creative midfielder. He plays more defensively.

Deco is good in passing and shooting, and can help defence line as well, but he has less experience than Seedorf. Technically, he is good.

Pirlo is a very unique player. He plays an unusual role as a mdeep playmaker. He is neither strong nor fast, but can deliver excellent passes and help defence line. He is a set-piece (free kick, corner kick, penalty kick) specialist. Technically he is among the best in the world.

Best at defence: Frings
Best at attack: Seedorf
Best at technique: Pirlo
