The estimated 9 million kids whose families make too much money to qualify for Medicaid and too little to afford health insurance. The bill, championed by that nonpartisan team of Sens. Ted Kennedy and Orrin Hatch, who crafted the first SCHIP law in 1997, would add more than 3 million, perhaps close to 4 million, to the 6.7 million already receiving health care under the joint federal-state program.

When republicans in congress and the senate speak out against socialized forms of healthcare......people need to realize they are really only talking about healthcare for you and me. Our representatives get free healthcare for themselves and their families ...FOR LIFE !

Also Iraq and Afghanistan both have universal healthcare, for all citizens,...paid for by the war fund !

Fact is, America DOES NOT provide the best quality healthcare in the world. The US ranks 37th, according to WHO for quality of care. Most of the countries that beat the US in quality aspects, have some form of Universal healthcare system.

Here's a list of countries that have universal healthcare.

A few days ago, my wife and I attempted to find a pediatrician for our newborn baby...who is about 1 month old. We were hoping to use the same pediatrician as we have for our 1.5 yr old.....however, the office said they had too many patients and couldn't except anymore....even though we already use them for our other child. We called around and it was the same story everywhere.....cannot accept any new patients. Finally !...we found a new office that is opening its doors in a couple weeks...however they won't be seeing in patients for the first 4 months... So my daughter won't be able to get her first checkup or shots until she's 5 MONTHS OLD ! So anyone who says that universal healthcare would result in longer wait times......obviously hasn't tried to go see a doctor recently. I just don't see how it could possibly get any worse.

So I think your question...although a bit harsh in language...is perfectly reasonable. Why do Republicans support universal healthcare to be paid for by American tax payers, for Iraq and Afghanistan.....but not for our own country ?!

I think we need to rebuild America before we sink anymore money into Iraq....starting with healthcare.

Get rid of the health insurance industry that is ruining the quality of healthcare in our country....then more money can flow directly to the hospitals and doctors. Then maybe a tylenol won't cost $50 dollars while your in the hospital.

You are wrong on all counts. I am a conservative. I like the US just fine. I like kids. I do not want my tax dollars going to pay someone else's insurance. The federal government should not be in the insurance business. Parents should take care of their own children, to include buying insurance. This bill is a back door attempt to move towards socialized medicine.
I don't believe anyone can support a claim that there are 9 million children without insurance because the parents cannot afford it. That is a made up number to promote the liberal goal of government control of the health care and health insurance industries.

Republicans actually love kids and want to help them by changing the US education system from a training ground for little leftists to one that prepares them for the real world. If the kids who do not have healthcare had parents who were willing to throw away their joints and roaches, get a real job and provide health insurance coverage for the children they claim to care for so much, those kids would be in good shape. Most republican kids are cared for in realistic ways by their parents, who do not spend their lives trying to bring down the President, but support their families instead. There are jobs out there that pay enough to afford health insurance, even for job seekers without college degrees. The fact that they may get their hands dirty shouldn't keep them from providing for their children, instead of waiting for government to take over their responsibilities.

Did any of you Republican trolls even see the video? i presumed not. The video shows 2 Texan applicants for Governor status at a microphone in front of a secessionist crowd (Who weren't satisfied that Rick Perry did not seem) And asserting, "See that flag up there, the only above the Texan flag? I hate that flag. I hate united statesa., I choose they had get off our backs. " it somewhat is Larry Kilgore, Texan Gubernatorial candidate. He reported it a number of circumstances. In those words. "I hate united statesa.." Debra Medina. Texan Gubernatorial candidate, reported, "we are conscious that stepping off into secession will recommend a bloody conflict. however the tree of liberty", yadayadayada. And the team of Texans cheered. So before you write it off as MSNBC, pffft! you will extra constructive examine it out. There they have been good there on video asserting those issues. Calling for a bloody conflict against the US government. So, Why does Texas hate united statesa.?

Republicans are the party of responsibility. These kids need to be able to take care of themselves or they should not be here. If there is not a private business solution, these " TAX CUT" Republicans are hostile to anything that does not empower them and make money.

Did Clinton & the Dems Hate American Grandparents So Much? The Dems Didn't Give a Dime to Grandma to Buy Medicines

While millions of American grandmas and grandparents had to chose between paying for heat, buying medicines or eating dog food, Clinton and the Dems didn't give them one single dime to buy medicines.

Thank God for president Bush.

why do they hate america so much that they would rape the people through unrealistic high gas prices, giving tax cut (that the middle class has to the support by having higher taxes) to their wealthy friends, sending out people off to war, cutting off the funds to Vet hospitals and lowering the health care for the Vetertans? and I could go on and on and on and on and on....
