3 hours.

In the first 2 hours train A gets 2 x 75 = 150km ahead.

Closing speed of B on A = 125 - 75 = 50kph

Time to catch up = 150 / 50 = 3 hours.

let the time taken for both trains to meet after train B leaves the station be X.

so the distance travelled by train A is:
75*(X+2) => we add 2 here because train A left the station 2 hours earlier.

the distance travelled by train B is:
125*X

because both trains would have travelled the same distance when they meet, the equation you have to solve is:
75*(X+2) = 125*X

Remember that X will be the number of hours the trains meet after train B leaves.

Hope that helps. =)

the taken distance for each must be same
75(t+2)=125t

or
50t=150
t=3 hours

Answer: they will meet after 3 hours.
