The presumption of dictating to an independent nation the form of its government is so arrogant, so atrocious, that indignation as well as moral sentiment enlists all our partialities and wishes in favor of one and our equal curse against the other

We surely cannot deny to any nation that right whereon our own government is founded, that every one may govern itself according to whatever form it pleases and change these forms at its own will, and that it may transact its business with foreign nations through whatever organ it thinks proper, whether king, convention, assembly, committee, president, or anything else it may choose. The will of the nation is the only thing essential to be regarded.

- American Foreign Policy
And What It Really Means

- Be a Democratic Society
But My Kind of Democratic Society

- Have Free Elections
But Elect Our "Selected" Groups Or You'll Loose Humanitarian Aid & We'll Let You Starve To Death

- Respect Human Rights
While We Will Continue To Hold People For Over 5 Years Without Trials, Court Appearance Or Even Showing The Charges Against Them

- Be Liberals & Reject Religious Fundamentalism In Your Government
Unless Your In America Then Liberal Is A Dirty Word & Liberals Are Just Horrible, Horrible People Because Support Ordinary Americans & Not Our Millionaire/Billionaire Friends. And Bush Will Continue To Base His Public Policies Entirely On "His Particular Religious Beliefs" And Reject Medical Science, Violate Women's Rights & Support Religious Fundamentalism.

YES------ if you look at the case of the FBI's search of a politicians office and the response it received from congress people -- They believe that they are above the law and should not be held accountable..

A political office is just another office where you conduct business and has no special priviledges( except for national security) The FBI would not disclose security papers (except for agents with a need to know) If it were the washington police then no they do not have the right. FBI--CIA-- NSA--
should be able to search everything ,anywhere even the presidents residence or office.

the case mentioned had two(2) accomplices already convicted of bribing the congressman involved.. he should
not still have been in office doig government business..

Ok, i've read a couple of your posts and you are by far the most idealistic person i've ever heard. Its ignorant to think by ideals instead of facts. The USA is a democratic empire, the most powerful the world has ever seen. Our government is in control of us and they WILL impose their will on weaker nations, or for that matter any other country in the world, to remain dominant, with a world under US leadership. You sound like some guy whose been dead for hundreds of years, thats very ignorant.

Our Republic, based on free and fair elections was compromised at numerous times in American History: The Tilden/ Hayes election of 1876, the Kennedy election through fraud, the Kennedy assassination at the hands of rogue CIA agents and government insiders, Nixon, Reagan, and finally the Unelected George Bush.
I think its time to clean house and start over.

our president no longer cares.

he's the deciderer.

and the republicans in congress doing his bidding are just as bad.

this war makes no sense at all.

i don't see why anyone anywhere is defending the choices made in going to war in iraq instead of fighting the real war on terror.

and now bush wants to sell $20 billion in high tech weapons to the saudis - people we KNOW were involved in the 9/11 attacks.

time to face the sad facts - our president is a outright traitor.

period.

That battle was lost long ago. The term public servant has no meaning in today's world. People are paid vast amounts of money to make new laws that people are paid small amounts of money to try to enforce. Instead of a choice by people, it is a choice by entities that aren't people. Love of each individual, and choose not to hate our differences simply because they exist. It's the one remaining choice we can make.

Your ? is way too long and wordy. You don't say who is your government. In the US, we do not have a democracy. We have a representative republic. We cannot change our government at will

It seems like it. More and more our president seems more like a dictator than a president.
