Dogs actually love us. That's amazing. Us humans can barely get along. How many people would you really like to have by your side all the time? Favorite breeds: Dobermanns, Great Danes, & mutts.

I am a huge dog lover!!!! I have always been that way... ever since I can remember! I have had dogs my entire life (my parents bred border collies and had sheltland sheepdogs).
At 9 I started to raise money annually for the dogs in my towns local shelter and then at 12 I was able to volunteer there! Even today besides working as a veterinarian technician, I still am very active with local rescues and help out whenever I can. Mostly through fostering :)
And I am lucky enough to hug and steal kisses from several dogs on a daily basis at work :)
I absolutely have the big breed bug. I have always had a special place for gentle giants in my heart. My first large breed was a Great Pyrenees and now I am the proud mom to Saints and Newfs! Although I love all dogs (especially the big guys!!), I would have to say that Saint Bernard's are my breed of choice. Not that I love my Newfies any less!!!!
... Dobie.... how did you get involved with Dobermans????? :)))))

YES! Ive always had at least 1 dog at all times all throughout my life - I greaw up with dobermans and becambe an obedience instructor - at that time I had a german shepherd - then when my shepherd died I bought an Irish Wolf Hound (LOVE the giant breeds) I showed the Wolf Hound - now he has passed away I was married and my husband preferred small dogs so we bought a Shih Tzu X Llasa Apso and then we took our daughter to the Lost Dogs Home and I was looking at a grey hound but my daughter convinced us that a Shih tzu X Bichon Frise - I think one day I will go back tothe giant breed though - I soooo love St Bernards however Im not sure if I could cope with all that drool they produce so would probably go for another Wolf Hound or a Great Dane.
My guess is Ill have a dog of one type or another for as long as I live - I find they are fantastic for companionship and they love you unconditionally

I love dogs so much I couldn't live without one. I couldn't imagine my life without dogs. There are many breeds I like, but if I had to choose, I would say a cocker spaniel is my breed of choice because I know this breed so well....and miniature dauchshunds are great too....I just bought one in December and she is such a delight!
In the past I've owned Dandie Dinmont Terriers, a Doberman, and a lab mix....they were all great!

Absolutely! Without dogs I'm not the kind of person I like to be around. I've always had mutts, but am partial to the bigger retrievers and shepherds. I love the northern breeds, but don't know if I'd be able to have one. Right now I'm really interested in Newfoundlands, but I doubt I'd get one anytime soon. It's so hard to keep track of my one mutt when we go somewhere; I don't know if I could do two right now. Mutts, traditionally though, have been my breed of choice.

Love 'em to bits.
Love all breeds really, perhaps not too keen on Akitas, but love all others across the broad spectrum of the doggy world.
My own dogs have all been gun dogs, mainly Pointers (you wouldn't have guessed, would you? LOL). Love the gentleness of gundogs, the soft mouths. Also love dobies and all that look like them, or have a bit of Doby in them (mini pinscher, Manchester, Rotti).
All dogs rock!

Yes, and Leo's sister, Cherry, looked exactly like the avatar depicted in this question! Leo, looked more like a Rottweiler. Both pets were Doberman.
I love all varieties from miniatures to hounds and Great Danes. Pugs are delightfully cute...and boxers too, not to mention, the sweet nature of Labs!

Yes. I love all types of dogs, but I do have a few favourites.
First, I tend to prefer larger dogs. Small dogs are cute, but that can be "delicate" and have that something-to-prove attitude. Larger dogs seem to be more self-assured and relaxed.
Second, I prefer dogs that are still closely connected to their work purpose. For example, herding dogs and retrievers.
Third, I prefer dogs that are more trainable - which means they tend to require more effort on my part.
My "dream dog" is an Irish Wolfhound but I will probably never have one. I would want a large fully fenced country property before I'd even consider it. Also, given their generally short life spans, I might never risk it.
