I hear the only good opportunities for anyone living there is to join the military or work in the coal mines.

You are exactly right!

All our good jobs have been outsourced to other states and when a building needs to be built or a mountain needs to be excavated, they hire some out of state company!

Not all coal mines pay good unless you work for Massey or US Steel (Pen Oak) and you have to pratically be kinned to someone there before you can get into the front door.

I'm a security guard at a punch mines and they only get paid $13/hr. Not hardly enough $$$ to keep gas in your vehicle here!!!

What makes you think the people of West Virginia want something different? They continue to live their and raise their families there.

This is the arrogance of socialism.

It's not what the politicians do , it's what the residents do , they should move to Florida . Florida's full of big cities and the small towns are all close to the big cities for convenience .

West Virginians are free to leave or vote out whom ever is in office in their state. Have you visited WV you'd have to love it to live there.

Actually they can work for the government, considering Robert Byrd has managed to move most of it there.

I think that is something for the state government to concentrate on. They need programs to attract entrepreneurs.
