I can't Izzy's Mum (Dad?) - she's sunning herself on a beach somewhere - the weather is probably better here though - hence the noise polluters out on the streets wrecking things for decent folk.
Hope that your beautiful baby is not kept awake at night by such.

Good point. If they can ban smoking in buildings because it is now deemed to be hazardous to health, then they should ban the installation of powerful speakers in motor vehicles.
I can hear loud base in my house, coming from passing cars and apart from being a nuisance it is bad for my hearing. Has the government ever heard of NIHL?

If there's a noise that is seriously bugging you, don't hesitate to call in a disturbance of the peace to the police station - you don't need a lawyer...but the noisemaker may. There's a reason there are laws about disturbing the peace - and the average resident knows better than to be so inconsiderate to their neighbors. I always ask my friends to keep the noise to a minimum - they can come inside and listen to music but they aren't going to "bump" in my driveway.

If you knew the source and it was constant then you could talk with a lawyer. If it is from sources that you couldn't do this with I would find a quieter place to be. I would also try for a closer noise that I found relaxing to help cover up the noise further out.

its not just a sunday, any day when it has been nice the dick heads come out in their souped up nova's hahahahahahahahahahahahhahahah very cool NOT!! and drive round revving their engines with their big exhausts with crappy music blasting out with the speakers distorting because they are cheap and nasty, they are round here loads in fact a few weeks ago the police had a clampdown and pulled 32 boy racers and found only 2 of the cars were roadworthy !!! that frightens the crap out of me, these idiots should have their cars crushed and keep on crushing them until they can afford something decent and roadworthy and can drive with some consideration for other. rant over !!!

I loathe people who play their car steroes loud. My neighbour has a son in his early 20s, who plays house music on his car stereo when he hoovers his car, and it's so loud you can hear it 2 streets away. It's like being in a club (which is the point for him, I suppose). The last time he did it I was in a bad mood and I shouted at him to 'switch it off you dic*head', which he did. Normally I just go out.
It's hard to ask them to turn it down because it happens so often I'd be asking all the time. It's one of the cons of our society.

C) A country sports shop where you can buy earplugs that prevent you hearing loud noises but enable you to hear everything else.

IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO HAVE A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM YOUR VEHICLE.
DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
TAKE DOWN THEIR LICENSE NUMBER AND CALL THE POLICE. KEEP DOING THIS UNTIL THE POLICE START CITING THESE PEOPLE.
IT IS DANGEROUS TO HAVE A NOISE LIKE THAT BECAUSE YOU CANNOT HEAR A SIREN SOMETIMES FROM AN AMBULANCE THAT MAY WANT TO GET THROUGH FROM BEHIND YOU.
NOT ONLY THAT IT CAN CAUSE DEAFNESS IF THE PERSON THAT IS PLAYING IT KEEPS IT UP.
